Generally, we use the proverb that name doesn't matter, but this one is the exactly opposite situation where name really does matter. Well we are talking about the new marketing strategy of producer Karan Johar which he adopted for his upcoming film Wake Up Sid. Karan has come up with an idea that anyone named Siddharth can watch Wake Up Sid free of cost on particular day and time. Let us clarify why only Siddharth can watch it for free. Well the main character of the film caries name Siddharth, to whom his friends calls Sid. This is applicable for all the multiplex, however all the details of the idea are yet to be finalised.
When asked to Karan he confirmed it and said, "We are going to have a free show in all the metros in the country. Be it Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai or Kolkata, there will be a screening for all the Siddarth's and one companion. Wake Up Sid is all about Siddarth becoming Sid and I think we owe that much to them. The show will be held at the same time on the same day in multiplexes. I am in the process of finalising the details."
However, Ayan Mukerji, the director of the film said, "I think it's a great idea by Karan. When I was growing up Raj and Rahul were the names of guys around that age. However Siddarth is an old traditional name, but it is also new at the same time. It's a cool name and a cool idea."
Meanwhile all the Siddharths out there wake up and listen that you need to carry your id proofs otherwise you will miss the chance.
