Hello members! Well, well, time for some discussions.😛

So it's last year of school and after results you are ready to go to university/college. It's like a totally new environment. You have some expectations and some fears too.

  • So before joining the Uni, what are your expectations?
  • Are you worried about the new environment? New friends, new teachers, new schedules?
  • And for all those who have already been through this phase, how is the university/college life different from the school life?
  • Let's talk about one of the most noticed trends. So you topped in the last year of school and then once you are in college you are nowhere in the Top 20 list. I know how awful it must be. So why do you think this happens?
  • One thing people love about going to college is the freedom they get there. So what do you think about it?
  • So summing it all up, what are the good things and the bad things about the transition?
  • Anything else you'd like to add?

Well, well, well.....

I went through this transition last year. It was a big thing to me because I graduated with a class of like 45 people, a really small school. And now I'm in the Uni where my class has lie 5000 people. Yeah believe that!

SO it was a really terrifying thing at first. In school, I knew every single person, the students and the staff and the teachers. I would always get the personal feedback from the teachers. I would share my problems with my teachers and counselors.

Then I entered Uni. and a few of the my professors don't know me really well. After all how could they when they are teaching a class of 400 people?

But I figured out a way. I would always go to their office hours. That way they can know me better and I can get the personal feedback at the same time.

I do miss my old friends and a class where I knew every single person. Now when I'm in a class a lot of the faces are new, I don't get to interact with them all the time.

But that's part of life. You get some things and you lose some. There are a lot of opportunities here but then again a bit intimidating too!

One thing I'm very happy about though is that I graduated as a Valedictorian from HS and so far I've made it to the Dean's List in both semesters in Uni. as well! Hoping to continue that.

Great topic, Ghun!
