I rate Actors in the following categories:
General appeal and charisma: I don't think an actor or actress has to be the best looking just very charismatic, Case in point: Arjun Rampal- very good looking but I'm sorry not a great actor.
Best actors/actresses have not necessary been the best looking but they have something the best looking persons dont have: Charisma - Like Sr AB, Dilip Kumar, Smita Patil , Shabana Azmi, Madhuri, Naseerudin Shah
Otherwise you would find every model in this industry.
Dialogue delivery- I think that this is the most important qualitiy of an actor even though the new dubbing artist fans may not think so
Expression - Should not be over the top, but should speak to the audience. When they cry you should feel like crying.
Versatility: They are able to show a range in acting ability. PLay roles that are very different from another. Be bold in their choices. Especially female actors who play the eye candy from one movie to another is seriously annoying. Also, an actor or actress who plays the same romantic bollywood role in every movie is not a good actor for me - BORING
Dancing/Nritya: Dancing for me is not just jumping up and down and being good at that but the way the person feels when they are dancing, their enjoyment, expression etc. FOr me that would be Madhuri and people like Govinda. IN india Dance is a form of acting so I find this to be somewhat important not essential obviously.
Actors who can combine these various qualities in a full package are the best.
