Behzaad Khan’s journey with Border 2 is a powerful reminder that commitment to craft often goes far beyond what the audience sees on screen. The actor, who will be sharing screen space with Sunny Deol, revealed that he was approached for the film without an audition, as the makers had already seen his work. The associate director of Border 2 had earlier worked with him on Fighter, which helped build trust. When the team was searching for someone who could hold strong scenes opposite Sunny Deol, Mukesh Chhabra Casting Agency reached out to Behzaad. After meeting the director and the team, he instantly connected with them and was particularly impressed by Anurag Sir’s calm and composed approach to filmmaking, which made him say yes to the project.

Behzaad adds, “My journey with Border 2 really reminded me that commitment to the craft goes far beyond what people eventually see on screen. I was approached for the film without an audition because the makers had already seen my work. The associate director had worked with me earlier on Fighter, which helped build that trust. When they were looking for someone who could hold strong scenes opposite Sunny Deol sir, Mukesh Chhabra Casting Agency reached out to me. After meeting the director and the team, I instantly connected with them. I was especially impressed by Anurag sir’s calm and composed approach to filmmaking, and that made my decision very easy.

He says then, “Border 2 turned out to be the most physically demanding role of my career so far. We shot several sequences across mountains and dense jungles, which required constant running and a lot of physical endurance. One of the toughest portions was a long stretch of dried-up riverbed between two forest areas. The terrain was extremely uneven and risky, especially for action scenes.

He adds, “Playing a spy came with its own set of challenges, particularly in terms of physical preparation. I didn’t have professional trekking shoes or specialized gear. I had to perform these intense action scenes in normal footwear, jumping from one rock to another. On top of that, we were shooting in peak April heat, while I was dressed in winter clothing a sweater, vest, and kurta which made it even more exhausting.

He says, “During one of these demanding sequences, I suffered a severe ankle injury along with a ligament tear. I also injured my fist and arm. Despite the pain, I chose to continue shooting. I would wrap my ankle with a crepe bandage, remove it just before the take, run and perform the shot, and once it was done, I’d apply pain relief sprays and take painkillers.

He adds further, “The injury took almost three to four months to heal completely, and there was a noticeable limp whenever I was off-camera. But I made sure none of it showed on screen. I didn’t want my performance to be affected in any way. Interestingly, the action director hadn’t seen my earlier work and was initially skeptical about whether I could pull off such demanding action. But once he saw me perform, his confidence in me completely changed.”

He concludes, “Border 2 was emotionally and professionally fulfilling, but it pushed everyone to their physical limits. It truly lives up to its reputation as a tough project. Every single person involved cast and crew gave their blood, sweat, and relentless hard work. It was challenging, exhausting, and at the same time, deeply rewarding.
