Up till now whenever Jyoti got in trouble by Choti Ma, I felt sorry for her and thought she didn't deserve the treatment she was getting. But after today's episode, I hope Jyoti gets screamed at by Pankaj for being so careless. When she knows that Pankaj is dependant on her, she needs to be extra careful. She picks up the phone, and hangs up on Pankaj, even after hearing him screaming??? After this, I just no longer feel sorry for Jyoti.

She always gets so caught up in issues with Sushma/Padma, which is a complete waste of time. I don't think she's gotten the message yet that whatever she does, they will always hate her. She needs to stop wasting time there and spend a little more time at home. Jyoti's lucky to have gotten married into a family like Pankaj's, where they are so accomodating. And due to Jyoti, Uday was unable to get home either. Who knows what'll happen to Pankaj's parents now... 2 of the few people who are always on Jyoti's side.

Overall though, today's episode was brilliantly executed. It really had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, it was really intense. I really hope Pankaj's parents are ok though :(

I so agree with you Kru

In other shows, you see all these innocent, perfect girls that are blamed for everything by the vamps and they get punished for it

But here Jyoti is just messing up her own life.

She has a chance of happiness with Pankaj and the Vashishts. She never needs to worry about Padma and anyone related to her,

But she is just throwing that away

The only reason for Jyoti to have any links w/ home is Sudha. But I agree w/ both of you - I really hate her for being so obsessed w/ Sushma and Padma. Had she not been, she wouldn't have had to shit bricks over the fact that nobody in her in-laws knew about Sushma or Brij. In fact, I really wish that KK and Dadi would tell her that she's embarrassing both herself and them by putting so much time behind them, rather than her in-laws, and that if she didn't improve, they'd complain directly to Pankaj and the in-laws.

I do hope that once Uday and Sudha are married, Jyoti let's go completely, and doesn't resume devoting herself to getting Sushma out of the hands of Brij. But Jyoti does need to monitor what's going on w/ Sudha, because nobody in that retarded Sharma family seems capable of doing it.

^Thats true, if theres any reason Jyoti should be away, it should only be for Sudha... because its only the few times with Uday/Jyoti that Sudha actually smiles, and she really needs them. But otherwise, Jyoti is wasting her time. I'm glad though that she admitted her mistake and realized she's spending so much time being a perfect beti, that she's forgotten she is also someone's bahu.

This obsession that Jyoti has with her responsibilities towards her family has got her in trouble now...she was never there to take care of Pankaj and his parents...she was always more in a hurry to run to her father's house for any small reason. She even went ahead and hired that servant in a hurry.

I used to feel sorry for her too when CM used to pick on her....but now I totally understand what that was all about.

Hiring that servant wasn't totally Jyoti's fault. She did ask her m-i-l about it, and she consented. Besides, Longshree, who was there w/ the family long enough to be trusted, was the one who made that reference, so if anybody deserves to be blamed for this hiring, it's Longshree, not Jyoti. In fact, Pankaj's family had hired Longshree long back, and after so many years of service, she turns around and betrays them. Note that she lied about Ratan's origin - when Jyoti asked her whether he was from her neck of the woods, she denied that and told her that he was from Udaipur, and from that point on, she made it a point to berate Ratan whenever he spoke in Bengali. If Longshree was fully innocent, she'd have told Jyoti that he indeed was from her country. Instead, she was counting on him doing a heist and getting out of there, while she could merrily continue in her position. I do hope that on Monday, Jyoti exposes her along w/ Ratan - maybe if he slips and speaks in Hingali.

If Jyoti had simply delimited her maakya responsibilities to:

Making sure her money reached them - and that can be a direct deposit to the bank, instead of getting a plate with mithais on the first of every month;
Monitoring what's going on w/ Sudha (both before and after the Devika aspect was known), since she knows damn well that Padma isn't going to do squat.

Then she could have tended to both. On her maakya side, Sudha was already taking good care of KK, and Deepu was supporting the family. As for Sushma, since she considers Jyoti and Sudha her step-sisters, why not make her well-being the sole responsibility of Padma and Deepu, and not bother about her at all? Once Jyoti follows this formula, she can do justice to both.

But I do hope Sudha is out of there fast, so that this no longer remains an issue. I mean, once that happens, Jyoti can simply send money every month, and do nothing more. Oh, and for Christ's sake, drop that idea of starting a dance class and reducing the time even more just because of your ego about who pays for Sudha's treatment - let it be Pankaj for now, and once Sudha is married (and you know it'll be in this family, since Uday is dating her), let it be an intra-family decision, and not Jyoti's alone.

I agree with what has been said, no one is stopping her from being happy except herself. Aside from Sudha, no one cares for her, given sushma is her sister but if she has gone down so low what is the need to help her now. ..I hope Brijs truth is revealed soon so then sushma can drop to her feet but lo and behold jyoti is there...i think jyoti is an idiot..i think thats what will happen,due to her lack of attention to her in laws, pankaj will leave her, i mean come on woman, your life lies with your in laws now..sure you have your parents home but let them handle it....i know being a daughter its tough to see your moms home in trouble but still.
