Will Bigg Boss win the TRP battle?

The previous season of Bigg Boss got high TRPs thanks to an unusual mix of celebrities, and Colors must be hoping that the magic works this year too.

There has already been a lot of hype before the show after news broke that Amitabh Bachchan would be hosting the show. The veteran actor will be back as a host on TV after nearly after two years when he hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Amitabh's presence is a feather in the channel's hat. He will not only pull in more viewers but people love his style, aura and mannerisms. It will be interesting to see a subtle, classy man like him deal with the contradictory Bigg Boss contestants. Plus, a lot of other big names have been coming up as possible contestants.

Last year, Bigg Boss aired at 10pm for an hour; this year it will air at 9pm for more than an hour. This is the prime-time slot in which both Star Plus and Zee TV have their top shows which have been getting TRPs as high as 6. Zee TV airs Pavitra Rishta at 9pm and Agle Janam Mohe Betiya Hi Kijo at 9.30pm, while Star Plus has Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai followed by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Further, Bigg Boss will air on weekends too, posing a challenge for other weekend shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs and Tere Mere Beach Mein. With more new shows like Dance India Dance season two and Dance Premier League in the pipeline, the competition is hotting up. But who will come out on top?

I really hope PR and AJMBHK are not affected. May be initial few weeks will be difficult due to curiosity, but in the long turn both shows will do well despite the threat.

^^^Lol shree the inmates Of BB are not at all interesting i don think Pr or Agle janam will be affected Moreover BB never had extraordinary trps but due to AB da trp will be High but later on it will drop for sure...

I know...even I am thinking the inmates are not that interesting but you never know.They seem "polished" compared to earlier one😆...and thats not a very good thing for BB.😆

Hmm all reality shows start off with a bang and fizz away slowly. I don't think it will be a huge problem for AJMBHK & PR who have regular addicted couch potatoes. Even KK2 didn't make a huge difference. Maybe during weekends Bigg Boss might have a bigger impact.

I would rather watch Agle then see so called famous people bitching about each other and throwing tantrums. I have stopped seeing reality shows as they are scripted and are the most unreal thing on National TV now.....
