The Second Apsara Film and Television Producers' Guild Awards went underway last Saturday as the best of the film and television industry came together to attend the event.

Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao, Ganesh Hegde, Dia Mirza, Varun Badola, Rajeshwari Sachdev, Rohit Roy and Shilpa Saklani provided the quintessential dose of live performances.

Coming to the awards, Black took the lead with 10 statuettes in its kitty including Best Actor for Amitabh Bachchan, Best Actress for Rani Mukerji, Best Actress in a supporting role for child actor Ayesha Kapoor, Best Director for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Best Screenplay and Best Film;

Parineeta won the debut awards in the Special Awards category with Pradeep Sarkar and Vidya Balan picking up the Awards for Best Debut (Director) and Outstanding Debut (Actor) respectively.

In the television arena, Astitva — Ek Prem Kahani bagged awards for Best Television Series — Drama while Nikki Aneja Walia and Varun Badola were presented awards for Best Actress and Best Actor in a television series.

Popular comic act Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai also picked up awards for Best Director and Best Ensemble Cast.
