You should have offered the 'All of the above' option. That would be my pick. Also, instead of Mother, say Padma, since Sudha was Lata's daughter, not Padma's, and it shows.

I would say that the Grandma is a huge cause of Sudha's personality disorder. BUT since Jyoti leaving the house, it's the grandma that has really been supportive and there for Sudha.
If the grandma was to leave the house now, and Padma was to stay, I would say tht would be very bad for Sudha cause she now realises the way she used to treat Sudha wasn't right and has changed, while Padma, unfortually hasn't

I mentioned this in the update thread, but here is what's worth repeating.

Dadi isn't the only one responsible for Sudha's misery - Deepu is as well, and actually, so is Padma, since she consistently took Dadi's side over Sudha. For instance, in her recollections, Sudha threatened to complain to Padma about how Dadi treated her. How many times does anyone recall Padma criticizing Dadi over this, except after Jyoti left, and that too in a self serving attempt to deflect criticism that she was responsible for all the misery in the household? So while Dadi and Deepu were outright hostile, Padma always took Deepu's side over Sudha's, and did not oppose Dadi whenever she berated Sudha.

For instance, the night that Devika and Uday had their ice-cream date, he gave her a friendship card and then proposed, and she spurned him, remember what caused that? Sudha had brought home a more expensive tiffin, and was lambasted by both Dadi and Padma, and that night, reeling from that attack, she turned into Devika, went to the club, and was re-directed to Uday's home. That was also the night that Devika confronted Dadi and intercepted her hand as she threatened to slap her.

I agree w/ SammyGone above - if Dadi leaving is a solution, so is Deepu leaving, and we all know how likely that one is. In that household, 3 of the 4 people remaining haunt Sudha, even though 2 of them are now supportive. So if Sudha is to lay to rest Devika, she has to leave that place for good. That's why I'm hoping that she marries soon - she can't be a guest in the Vashisth mansion indefinitely. Once she marries Uday, that's her home, and family.

Looking at the Navratri clips, I was somewhat disappointed that Deepu was invited to the celebrations as well. What I hope happens next week - Sudha remains w/ the Vashisths for the time being and helps w/ the Navratri celebrations, and after that, Uday resumes dating her, and quickly proposes. I also think that when time comes, it would be good for Sudha if only KK was there at her wedding, but not Dadi, Deepu and definitely not Padma.

I have to disagree with you on Deepu. We keep forgetting that when Dadi was being mean to Sudha, Deepu was a child then. His past behaviour, since he doesn't act like that anymore, around Sudha is due to what he picked up on from Dadi, and Padma's obvious favouritism towards Deepu meant that he felt that he could do anything, which he could. But now things are different, both Deepu and Dadi have changed, when Padma pointed out Dadi's behaviour towards Sudha, on the night when Jyoti left, Dadi admitted what she did was wrong, and has since learned from it.

What I'm trying to say is that the best solution would be that Sudha marries, but at the wedding Padma and Sushma and Briji should'nt be there, because Deepu and Dadi have tried since then to be better, and they are. But it's going to be a while before that happens and in the meanwhile Padma needs to leave, cause right now she, not Dadi, not Deepu, but Padma would be really bad for Sudha

I have to agree with SammyGone

Though I blame dadi completely, the initial issue, or what really caused the anxiety and nervousness first was the incident at school with the cheating. If dadi would have supported and believed Sudha and tried to comfort her, not beat her up more about it, then maybe Sudha wouldn't be so nervous and twitchy all the time. Then all those other instances where dadi falsely acceused Sudha (eating the laddu or drinking the cream) could have gone differently, with Sudha being more confident

But to dadi's credit, she has changed now and sees that what she did was wrong.

As for Deepu, I hardly blame him. Even though it's no excuse, he was raised not knowing any better that how he acted. He was the prince of the house and always treated above al others, so he thought he could get away with anything. To Deepu's credit once he was told about the error of his ways by Jyoti, he changed himself, and is now standing on his own 2 feet. So Deepu is at fault, but not really.

As for Padma, don't even get me started on her. She is the most horrible person I have ever seen. I can go on all day ranting about her and I still wont be done, so I wont even go there

For something like Dissociative Identity Disorder (the name Multiple Personality Disorder isn't used anymore - Jyoti Creatives) a new identity is created by the mind to shelter the original personality from some kind of anxiety. And Sudha's mind was being sheltered my the anxities caused by those events of her childhood (the abuse and the neglect)

So yeah, I blame dadi

seems like every ones responsible some where or other...
bcoz she got influenced by "devika" bcoz jyothi liked her,deepu teased her,dadi hated her,padma always blamed her,and the incident in school is worth to mention..
all these effected her and mixed showed on her to make her self change to "devika"
