September 24 Written Update

It's the next day. Amoli,Kamoudi,Tani,baba,Ayi,and Kamoudi's ayi are all looking for Beturam in the burnt fields. Baba yells Betu! Betu! and a while later they all find him sitting in the fields crying. Kamoudi is going to her Betu to console him but Amoli and baba stop her. Beturam is crying and sadly looking around at the fire in the fields. Baba goes to Beturam and shakes him saying Betiyaa!! Beturam looks defeated and says everything is over,it's all gone now. Everything is mixed in the soil now, all of their hopes[umeed], the happiness of his daughter getting married, all of their happy dreams..everything is in the ashes now. He keeps repeating that everything is over now, everything. He turns towards Takuram and says "you told me that everything will be good now, that this years crops will be profitable and that there will be so much produce that we will not have space to put in our house and that we'll have to put it all in someone else's house." He sarcastically says "look! look at the crops, they've grown so good..look at our profits!" He bends down and picks up the burnt soil. He says what's left now?!! ashes?! He is yelling" where do I put these ashes?! here or should I take them to my house?" Beturam is crying. He is saying "Takiyaa..you used to say that this land is our mother. I have taken care of this land as though it is my mother. I've starved myself but I never forget to feed this land. When my kids were sick, I never gave them medicine but I've always given medicine (I think he means fertilizer) to the crops so they don't get infested. (He says alot of things about the land and how he worked so hard day and night to take care of his motherland) He says that he spent the whole year hoping for profit in the fields and what did he get...ashes. He is crying very hard and saying that he was hoping to produce gold but all he got was ashes! He is shaking takuram and asking him if god exists and if he does, then why is he just watching all of this and not doing anything. Takuram is looking helpless and crying. He also says that the farmers are the luck(kismat) of the country but look at their own bad luck. Jai Kisan is only a saying...this country is not ours, it was never ours. Takuram is consoling him and telling him not to cry. (The part is mostly him crying and saying alot of pessimistic things) OMG..too may dialogues!!😆

Amoli picks up some of the ashes and she has a flashback of herself. She is standing in the beautiful field looking around all happy and smiling. Flashback ends and Amoli is shown crying and looking all sad. She is thinking to herself that there used to be soil here but all there is now are ashes.

Scene shifts to Saukar. Some people (maybe his workers) are telling Saukar that nothing is left in the village now and that no one has anything left now. They say that there is no single trace of growth left in the village and that no one will be able to pay him back. They're asking him what they should now because no one will be able to repay him. Saukar tells them that he will personally go and talk to the villagers.

Scene shifts again to Kamoudi's house. Kamoudi's mother in law comes and asks if Takuram is home and that she has to talk about something important with him. Kamoudi's ayi goes in and sees that Takuram is sitting in the floor just staring into nothing. She tells him that Kamoudi's mother in law is here.

Takuram is crying and saying that her in-laws must have found out about the fields by now and that they probably think that they don't have any status (aukad) now. He says that they're probably here to cancel the wedding. He goes outside and tells her that he knows why they have come. Her mother-in law says that he has made her job easier now. She says that the wedding that was to happen two days later shouldn't happen.Everyone is shocked upon hearing this. She says that they should not waste anymore time now and get the two kids married earlier. (shub kaam mein deri kaisi) They're all happy now. Her in law says that she understands what they've been through and that all she wants is Kamoudi as her daughter in law. She doesn't want anything else. She says that the wedding should be very simple with only the elders present , nothing more. Kamoudi gets all shy and goes inside.

Scene shifts to like a town gathering. The saukar is present and so are all of the villagers.

The saukar says that now the villagers have nothing left now and that they have no crops to sell thus they will not be able to repay him. He says that the people who took loans from him put things on gaurantee. He tells all of them to brings the things and that he'll get his money back by occupying the guaranteed things.

He tells Takuram to bring his things and his daughter Kamoudi as well because he put her on hold.(girvi)

All of the elders are shocked upon hearing this. Beturam goes to the Saukar and begs him to leave his daughter. He says take my life but leave my daughter. The saukar tells him that now nothing is in hands and according to the deal he made, his daughter should be given to him now.Kamoudi is thinking in disbelief and she says that her baba should not have done that. ( I think she was thinking about her baba putting the cows as guarantee...I don't think she knows that she herself is being sold!)

Takuram,Ayi,Beturam and Kamoudi's ayi go to the Saukar's house. The Saukar asks them what they're doing here and takes him inside so no one can listen to them talking. Inside, Beturam falls on the Saukar's feet and begs hin to leave Kamoudi. He asks for 6 months and gives the Saukar his word that he will repay his debt. The saukar says alot of trashy and disgusting things about Kamoudi and how much she's worth and everything. Takuram(Amoli's baba) says that the saukar can take his fields in exchange for Kamoudi. The Saukar says the only way he'll give Kamoudi is that if Amoli is exchanged in her place. He says that he'll give 5000 extra for Amoli because she's worth more for her looks. (DISGUSTING!!..I feel like killing that Saukar guy!!) All four elders are shell shocked upon hearing this. The saukar is called for the pooja so he leaves. The episode ends with Ayi's shocked face shown.
