Black to Idiot?

The buzz is that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has moved on from a deaf blind to The Idiot. The filmmaker is said to have been inspired by Russian author Dostoevsky's work of the same name.

The novel is about a not-so-bright young man who is duped. From what we hear, Bhansali has reworked it to suit Indian audiences. Who will play the lovable Idiot? Bhansali's new favourite Amitabh Bachchan or his old, Salman Khan?

Rang birange start

Later this week, Versova's multiplex Cinemax will travel from the snow-clad land of Narnia to a Delhi University campus. The multiplex will host two giant premieres, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on January 24 and Rang De Basanti on January 25.

Cinemax plans to go all out — it will put up the magical door from Narnia, then spray graffiti over the walls for Rang De Basanti. It's one common? The stars, of course!

Rati's passion plaza

Actress Rati Agnihotri will now unveil her other passion. By flagging off the family-owned Virwani Plaza Mall on January 28 in Pune, she also opened her candle store Om to Home. "Since my husband Anil (Virwani) has always been into realty, this was bound to happen," Rati told our correspondent Chaitanya Padukone, "For the past 15 years, I have been crafting designer candles. But now, there will be a store where I have stocked exotic candles handmade by me."

Fame, shame shame

Whatever happened to the Qazi and Ruprekha that nudged the others to win at Fame Gurukul?

The two showed up at the Sony TV awards, drowning in their fashion disasters.

Qazi killed his Hrithik wannabeness in mangled jeans and tassled horror, while showing cleavage. Ruprekha displayed some unattractive flab and scary make-up in this tight green tee. Looks like the two need an image makeover — desperately.
