Let me try to deviate from the participant bashing and contibute my two cents on the actual proceedings, musically speaking.
India is a country of variety with lot of languages being spoken, We have seen a lot of arguments in the show and forum about languages and regions but music was all lost in this. There are multiple styles of music that coexist happily in this vast country. while qawalli was a nice variation, We have seen a punjabi song round, a black and white round, a LP music round, comedy song round. and everybody chooses a song which suits his/her voice. That does not require contestents (some ) to go out of their genre most of the time...and in the end all we get to hear is the same old thing...
I believe now when we have to choose the very best in the remaining 3 contestents while we have already lost some really good contestents who could really provide musical treats..(read nihira :) ) , there should be following rounds of song I would suggest:
(i) opponent mentor's choice round
(ii) song of audience choice.
(iii) a pure classical raaga based song.
(iii) Ghazal round...( thats for me plz).
anything else other musically inclined people would like to add...
