You know I personally think Kajol has given longevity to her career by being more choosy and only appearing in films intermittently. People are waiting for her next release, because she has been away for this while. Personally I think it was a smart decision.

It is true though that an actress' career ends a lot sooner than an actor's. And perhaps more than the marriage rumours, it is the fact that Rani is seen as part of the old group - as opposed to Kareena and Priyanka, or even Sonam, Deepika, Kangana etc, that has affected her career.

I just hope she picks better films from now on.

It is not just Kajol, It is Kajol and SRK. That's why there is so much hype about MNIK. Courtesy their popularity as a jodi, everyone is excited to see them back onscreen. Had it been Kajol paired with someone else, I doubt whether it would've recieved so much pre-release attention.

considering Kajol and Ash are married and still doing great work, i find it hard to believe that her marriage 'rumours' would effect her being not offered any movies...

i do wish she would sign outside the YRF banner because exclusive movies with YRF are not going to change anything for her... i wish her luck...

I agree with you Sanama. Rani had good potiential but ruined it by doing the same kind of weepy roles & then just acting in Yashraj. These actors need to take responsibilty of their actions. When things are good they are like- Its because of my hard work when things go wrong- blame the media.

She has been sitting at home doing nothing.. not even attending B town parties.. doing a movie after every 10 years with the same people.. wid same stories.. same production house.. I dont even think that press was even interested in gossip on her.. what rumors is she talking about.. she has become plain lazy..and now she is blaiming the rumors.. Kuch karoge toh rumors honge na.. There are no rumors on her..

Not rumours of marriage. It's easy to blame it on that. How many movies has she done outside YRF banner in the past 3 yrs.

Two? Saawariya and Babul.

Thoda Pyar, Tara Rum Pum and then finally Laga Chunri were like putting nails in her coffin. She may have thought that it was a comfortable atmosphere to work in , but that's what ends up limiting in actor/actress.

I can't think of one performance in the past 3 yrs where I was really wowed. No doubt she is a brilliant actress, but that is expected of her already.

What she needs to do is become crazy and do a role which is really out of the ordinary. Someone like her who does not need to prove her worth anymore as an actress can take big risks.

I don't know if the whole 'it's your choice in films' argument is really valid. I mean, who in Bollywood, with the exception of Aamir Khan and SRK perhaps, has had a stable career with regards to films?! Ash had an era of craptastic, brain-cell destroying films, but bounced back with Devdas/JA. And Kareena is currently going through the same stage; Golmaal Returns, Kambaht Ishq, and all those horrendous films she made a couple of years back, whose names I'd rather not remember, yet, apparently anyway, she's still top game.

Nobody looks at talent in Bollywood anyway, so the argument is an exception rather than a rule.

Actress in Bollywood are dropped like hot potatoes. The presence of damaging rumors and awful films don't necessarily have to be present in order for an actress to not be desirable anymore. I guess people just got bored and started focusing on other shinny new toys, such as Deepika and Katrina.

That's showbiz, kid.

What I do know is, however, that after the case of her missing pants, her career will be ruined for shizzle.
