I think DM's character wants Santu to stay but saying that means he has accepted her as a wife thus relieving Subhi from her post.

Also he is guilty for how he has treated santu during the times they were married and thinks it is best she leaves.
he is cleary a confused man with mixed emotions like is it wrong to feel for her or wanting her as a wife and mommy to his children etc.

Hey guys just a thought, why do they show DM so disillusional.
Does he really think that he lives in a village where the villagers are very modern and forward thinking.
Even today re-marrying a girl in villages is an issue so what makes DM think that a divorced girl i.e. santu will find a decent guy after he leaves her. The village he lives in believes very strongly that once the girl gets married, she leaves her 'pati's house on her death bed.
Also keeping in mind that same village did not accept hiten n khemi getting together even though they are not blood related, then how will santu find a boy.

And if i remember DM also mentioned to Pinakin that he was doing a favour to santu by marrying her after the boy ran away from the alter, otherwise such girl would not be able to marry. Now after the divorce it would be impossible.

Don't you'll agree?

Roma,You are so right.I too thought about this.He has to be such a dumbo to think that she can get married to another boy her age. After being married to him for about 10 months.

Such a major blooper in the show.

again, another inconsistency in DM's thinking towards the situation. and what about if she does marry someone else, she'll still be a daughter to baa and kaddu, hiten, suraj and birwa will still consider her as their mother... how can she still be those things and marry someone else?

I agree completely - I had the same thoughts that DM had to marry Santu because her to-be dulha ran away through no fault of hers and yet it became an issue that she would remain unmarried all her life.
Now she is a girl who was stood up at the mandap first and then divorced by her pati who also happens to be the maalik of Dharampur. Who will ever marry her and specially in a rural community. Now it would be a double whammy for her.

Unless DM has a plan that he will just order one of the village dudes to marry her. After all he is the maalik of Dharampur so who can refuse his order?
