I wouldn't say that Chivalry is dead. It's very much alive, just the definition has changed.
I for one do not want to be a damsel in distress waiting for my knight in shining armor. We expect to be treated as equals. Basic courtesy is welcome anytime.

Chivalry at its finest. The brave knight in shining armor and the accomplice save the day.

Honestly, I think a lot more women need to just ask themselves what they truly expect from men. The problem I think is women send conflicting signals, they want to be treated as independent individuals and also be cared for and pampered at the same time. Men have a hard time reading these mixed signals, and sometimes end up being annoying despite well meant intentions simply because the girl was high maintenance.

You know why a guy loves his tools and toys. They are simple and easy to use. Even the most intricate piece of high end machinery comes with instructions. Oil it, lube it, clean it - and it runs. Women on the other hand are just way too much. One day they need chocolate, the next day they need shopping, the third day lots of hugs and kisses - and the worst thing is they have no indicator lamp telling what maintenance work is needed.

Oh... and Sneha loves this part... Nicely put! 😆

I don't think Chivalry is dead at all, and was just thinking about this a few days back whilst watching DKD! (Shahid's too cute btw! Sorry but had to say this... 😳 )

So I was saying, I don't think it is dead in anyway, in fact, what has changed, is people's perception to the matter... Women always expect high from men around them, without realizing that they are continuously doing small gestures in order to please them or to protect them... At least, that's what I feel! I still know a lot of boys who:

1) would shift you to his right side, whilst a dangerous group of mischief makers are walking alongside on the left...

2) would wait for you to go back home safely and then leave from the place...

3) would not let you pay for a meal unless you fervently ask them to share the bill, though if they are close friends, it still wouldn't matter... 😉

4) would lighten up your mood when he knows you are not feeling upto it...

And I am talking simply of friends or sweet acquanitances from around... I know Chivalry doesn't necessarily translate along these lines, but today, lets be realistic, we don't need a knight in shining armor to whisk us away from all the pain and all that stuff...

I think man are at their best with women/girls who are unpretentious, who don't get excited at each small gesture, who appreciate small acts, and who are as natural with them as they would be with their girl- friends... I've just realized that over the years... True, obviously what you would talk would differ, perhaps, but it is the natural instinct and attitude that get men to be gentlemen!...

Or maybe, at the end of it, I just live in one very great neighboorhood and town! 😆

Nice one!
Cheers,
Sneha
