Its done through lots of editing tricks, which have progressed over the years as technology marches on. Even in the days of black-and-white sitcoms in the U.S.A., they had a show where a girl played twins (Patty Duke), so it must not actually be too difficult.

they showed that they split the screen in two

first they shoot the right side and then they overlap the left side scene and then they play it both together

its definitely cool
