Heer's House pt.2. The Door

Why does Heer's front door not have a handle and proper lock ?

Instead there are those latches way up top. Now even Heer who is quite tall (how tall exactly, anyone know?), has to go full stretch and her hands just reach the latch.

Imagine if she was shorter ? every time Prem turns up at the door and our hearts start to race in anticipation we'll be kept waiting while she goes to get a ladder, climbs up and opens the door. By which time it'll be the end of the episode! What a terrible thought…unless…we had the slight hope that she would fall off the ladder into his arms….yes, that would be enough to keep us waiting breathlessly, chatting here on the forum till the next episode.

Then there's the lock issue. A latch is not going to stop a chor. And the last time Heer shouted "Chor! chor!!!" it was Prem himself who was the culprit, who not only stole her heart but also that tray of laddoos.
