Let's get real, shall we? It would take a lot more than two years for someone who started from scratch, to attain Akshita's level of fame. I would have believed it if they said that Akshita was the most popular singer in INDIA. That can happen. But to be nominated for a Grammy and to sing with Madonna and Justin Timberlake - now that is beyond ridiculous!
Perhaps a few centuries from now, when racial and social barriers cease to exist, it will be possible for a small town aspiring singer from India to make it big in the West within a few years. In this day and age though, it is next to impossible. Hell, aspiring singers from America itself, who have no connections in Hollywood, don't achieve instant stardom THAT quickly. Arohi toh door ki baat hai.
And please, her album broke the WORLD record for being the best selling album of ALL time? As in, it even beat Michael Jackson's Thriller album, which currently has that honour? The same Thriller, which sold so many copies that even Michael Jackson himself wasn't able to surpass its sales with his other albums - the great Arohi Sharma broke that record? LMAO, what a joke!
Let's face it, an Indian superstar like SRK got detained at one of the American airports because the airport officials didn't recognize him as an Indian actor. SRK, who has been reigning over Bollywood for almost two decades, has millions of fans all over the world and has made countless appearances on shows and award functions - they don't know that SRK well enough in the West. Yet, a total nobody like Arohi Sharma has become so big in two years that her album is topping INTERNATIONAL charts, is the best selling album of all time and people from all over the world are dying to meet her? WTF?!?!?!?
Who is she supposed to be, the next Michael Jackson? Last I heard, he was the only one to achieve that insane level of fandom and popularity. And it would be completely preposterous to show a bimbo like Arohi being put on the same pedestal. Ugh. Ekta, what were you thinking? Had you shown around ten years passing by since Hari Prasad's death, Arohi's stardom would have been slightly believable. But two years? Please.
Sorry about the rant, but I found the new twist to be unreal, laughable and pathetic. 🤢
