question relating to Hiten

I know people here either like or dislike Hiten, personally i am partial to his character.

But i have 1 question, relating to his character and behaviour, which i cannot comprehend.

As we all know, hiten loves kheemi and from the face of it, he dislikes Santu.

Knowing very well that kheemi and santu are sisters, shouldnt he treat santu with some respect?

Should he not treat her nicely???

what sister would be happy knowing, the person she loves treats her sister like crap, just doesnt make sense, hiten should be confiding in santu and seeking her help to find kheemi.

he is also aware of how she is treated in his home, does he not have a duty to help and protect kheemi's sister??

ok santu is married to his dad, by no choice of her own, but that does not change the fact kheemi and santu are real sisters and that will never change.

I think that is the point everybody is trying to make

nobody is against HitMi to be honest i love them

but Hiten character being mean to santu is what ppl dun like abt him

not that they dun like him at all.

I'm not sure it's that it all revolves around Hiten relationship with DM:

Hiten and DM have never had a Father-Son relationship. Hiten tends to always see DM as doing something wrong i.e DM marriage to Santu
Hiten has never accepted Santu as his Mother or Friend and you can't blame him for that; how can he accept someone younger then him as his Mother? And they have nothing in common to be Friends.
Hiten fallen in love with Khemi, Santu sister but as he has no relationship at all with Santu he could not go to her and tell her this.
Santu KNEW that they loved each other but initially tried to part them which Hiten knew about so his dislike of her grew.
He blames the fact that because Santu is his step-mother that is why he can't marry Khemi and so blames BOTH DM and Santu for him not being with Khemi.

From his point of view it makes sense but I believe much of his dislike comes because Santu is DM wife, not because he dislike Santo herself.

But he's in for a rude awakening for Khemi will not be his and he will demand an answer from Khemi and she will reveal that Santo was/is going to divorce DM so that they could be together and couldn't let her house be built on the ashes of her sister!

i was just going to point out those reasons which shasha said. i just want to add one thing here....there is a saying that "first inpression is the last impression"....hiten met santu for the first in his life as wife of DM....which was totally unacceptable for him. and from then on his hatred followed.

the question is not about morality....we cant forget hiten is just a human who finds it difficult to suppress his feelings. at least he is not hypocrite....he cant make sweet talks to someone he hates.

i think we all like hiten and want him to be the better guy

maybe the writers can change his character to make him a little more approacable 😉

Regardless of how he met Santu its still common decency to act human towards another human being who has never done anything to you. From what i have seen the only reason Santu wanted to keep Khemi and Hiten apart was because of culture not because of her dislike for their love. She was just trying to do what is best for all concerned. I understand where everyone is coming from but how can one human stand by and watch another be abused that is beyond me.

There are a lot of reasons and not all of them are simple. The first time he saw Santu was in the storeroom living like a household help. Kaddu, Maulik and himself are DM's adult children. Not only were they not taken into confindence about his marraige to Santu, they were not informed about it after their return. Imagine coming to know about your father's remarraige from a paper airlplane your younger brother threw at you?

And then he saw how Santu was being treated by DM himself. When his father was not accepting his new bride and treating her as a family member why would Hiten? And this is the MAIN reason annoying him - that he and Khemi cannot get married for a non-existant relationship.

In Santu's case, after she found out about him and Khemi, she did not give him the opportunity to explain his side or point of view. When he wanted to come clean with DM she stopped him and made him lie. Instead if Santu had taken DM into confidence at that very time things would not have come to such a head.

He has asked so many times and has again not been told the reason as to how the maasi-bhanja situation is being resolved. Also, when Nanaji asked Santu if Khemi knows about the engagement Santu lied and said 'ues'. This is again going to come and bite her when Khemi bails out of the whole thing.
