Priyanka Chopra: What's the point of Priyanka being Priyanka?
While everyone from Vishal Bhardwaj as well as Shahid Kapoor has been hailed for their exemplary work in the film, Priyanka Chopra too has contributed in her own way to KAMINEY. Even though she is seen in a relatively lesser duration in the film when compared to Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka had to go an extra mile to get into the skin of the character of Sweety. Well, literally since this Punjabi girl had to turn Maharashtrian for KAMINEY.
"Actually being a Punjabi, it was quite a challenge to enact the role of a Maharashtrian girl. I had to go through some training before I could manage to get the accent and mannerism right", says Priyanka who is now enjoying a hat trick outing for herself after DOSTANA and FASHION.
There is a new avtar in which audiences saw her in KAMINEY. One can pretty much observe the hard work that must have gone into preparing for the role of Sweety.
"Yes, that's absolutely true", agrees Priyanka, "If you talk about different avatars then you would see that I have always tried to look and act different in each of my films. Whether it was FASHION or LOVE STORY 2050 or DRONA, I have always aspired to bring in a different person on screen. What's the point in Priyanka being Priyanka every time? That's so boring. I would rather experiment and become a character than being Priyanka Chopra on screen. This time around, audiences got to see Sweety!"
Well, one tends to believe her. After all she would be seen in as many as 12 avatars in her forthcoming release WHAT'S YOUR RASHEE. Now if that's not experimental enough, then what else is?
