There are few people they do believe in jaat, paat and kul. But now in modern days no one. Also, they knew this even earlier that Rads is an adopted child. When she was cleaning temple in Dev's house, dadi saw her and Rads asked for forgiveness and that time dadi said they do not believe in that. So I don't think this will be a big obstacle in the wedding. Even Dev does not believe in that.

I agree with you JP. It really is sad that in this day and age, there is such strong belief in caste etc. Having lived in US most of my life,, I have often been shocked when such topics are raised by family and friends who usually seem to be very independent and modern about other aspects of their life.

This was a great post and I too have passionate views on this topic being the mother of 2 boys adopted from India.

I think we are in a new day. I think that to get to that PR mansion, the one that she was kicked out of Rads has to once and for all conquer her self demons. I read the Vrath as a way of her finally exorcising her guilt over Vish. As she says "I have done all I can for my sister."

Now she and Dev have to conquer this. Like it or not this is a real societal issue. While having no merit these are issues that she will always face unless she and Dev can solve this.

Until the Vrath was done, Dev would be haunted by his first marriage. So now we need to put this to rest as well.

Don't worry our Rads will walk in as the real Choti Bahu of this family. To be its strength she has to first be her own strength as well

Poor Dev...he has been so starved of 😉 Poor guy really needs some action and if Radhika denies it, i'm sure he'll just drop dead😆
On a serious note, I really hope that doesn't happen, just too mean to keep the two love birds away like that...i mean everyone has their needs right...so do RaDev😉😆😳

Actually Rads might make up some story about how she is following a special vrat and abstaining from physical relations because she promised Kanha...you never know. She's pretty good at lying.

If this is where the story is heading then it will have gone lower then lows of some 3rd rate tv serial especially after hyping up the wedding of RaDev.
I just hope that Radhika in her ever sacrifial nature does not get Vishaka to bear RP heir for Dev.! yuck yuck..

oh god please don't say that..this story is going from bad to worse by the day...that is the most disgusting thought that would ever cross Radhika's mind. Please creatives don't ever let that happen... if it does, that will be the end of this serial for me. I do not want to see RaDev's love tainted in any shape or form. It just cannot happen. Too nerve racking...

But I must say that no matter what any of these villans (including Vaishali) plan against RaDev, at some point they will fail and RaDev will consummate their marriage...the harder they try to keep them away, more closer RaDev will become...just like in KS...Jigyasa always tried so much to keep Jai and Bani away from other each other and the end result was Bani pregnant and that was the end of Jai Walia's rough and tough attitude towards Bani. He was such a latto over her after that :)

I agree with you Banibond no matter how much villains try RaDev are not going to be separated Kanha already has a plan for them and they will be united in 15 days.

I am just wondering that on his wedding night is Dev going to do exactly what he was imagining about doing with Rads when he first got married, i.e.,lift her ghoongat, stare at her with his naughty eyes full of romance, make every effort so Rads stares at him as well and finally let her drink the whole glass of milk? 😉

I know to lot of you who grew up in this country it is lot of hocus-pocus, but it does exist... the first thing in arranged marriages are exchange of horoscope, understanding of each other's family history... is there any dosh in either family???
From a societal standpoint it made sense since a girl married into a family and each caste, sub-caste has its own rituals, food, just a way of life... it would be easier to ease into a family which is similar to yours....
My in-laws had inter-caste marriage (they had eloped way back when) and my husband was rejected by girls family over this... my mother herself was opposed to our marriage, if my father was alive, I wouldn't have married my husband, since we ourselves are from different sub-caste... even today my husband cannot perform any cermony in our family mutt... we are relegated to general public, whereas my brother who has married into the same sub-caste as my husband is allowed and his daughter too!!
I hope this makes sense... right or wrong it exists...

The cast issue :
Why presume that Radhika is from a low cast , She was brought up in a Brahmin's house . Dev Spoke for her to be accepted , in the temple . Now if Vaishali brings the topic of Waaris being of lowly origin , it will go against what dev has said so categorically inthe temple .
Shastriji might bring a solution for this as he did with radhika's horoscope .
I thought , once a man marries a woman , the child is supposed to be his cast & not that of the mother .The paternity prevails , in North India unlike some southern states .
If Mrin trio learn about it , they would like to poison the mind of trustees as they did with the Panchayat .
Moreover the waaris being elected Rajpurohit will come after Dev grows old , by then , Waaris may also like to go abroad as dev did & settle there.
This salvo from Amma has the greatest potential in turning Vaishali against radhika .
Now the Issue of Vishaka coming back , I feel she has burned her bridges . She got a legel divorce , she is seen in such dresses etc,. that even Vaishali will not like to have her in the house .
And Vishaka's own attitude towards PB . makes me think her role is over .
