Salman told DNA he was ecstatic when India won the Nehru Cup in a nail-biting tie-breaker with Syria recently. "It's delightful news and I want to congratulate Bhaichung (Bhutia) and his boys on the win. They've really done a marvelous job," he says.
And now, the star wants to see more talent coming into the game. "I just love the game and have grown up playing it. I want to encourage more youth from across the country to take up the game professionally. We need more footballing talent to come up in India," he adds.
Apart from promoting the game in different parts of the country, sources at AIFF (All India Football Federation) reveal Salman will also attend junior football coaching camps to boost the morale of the boys. Sources also say that Salman has not asked for any money for this endorsement but AIFF plans to pay him a fee anyways in keeping with norms.
