u might know that i am doing an assignment for french the country i picked is US

i tried looking up for the info on net but couldn't find it

Hi Manjot--here's some answers I came up with off the top of my head. I will find out more and edit.

famous people-Martin Luther King, Jr. (he had the famous speech "I had a dream" and wanted to end segregation), George Washington (first U.S. President...will add more later

major religions-Christianity is the major religion, with other religions represented

climate- Varies considerably depending on the location

major food-

crops grown there-

celebrations- July 4th (independence day)

who wrote the national anthem- Francis Scott Key wrote the lyrics to the national anthem (the "Star Spangled Banner")

why is french spoken there (in Lousiana)- I think it's because a lot of French people settled there (I have to check on this one)

what do the colours of the flag represent- colors: red, white, and blue...the flag consists of 13 stripes (red and white) representing the 13 original colonies. There are 50 stars (representing the 50 states). Not sure exactly why it's red, white, and blue....

more celebration are: Christmas( Dec.25), Thanksgiving( a festival for expressing ur gratitude, and where it is a custom to eat turkey for dinner), Halloween ( where kids dress up)

more religions- Catholic, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, and some Mormon people too. (but like Anjali said....Christianity is the main one)

major food- USA is most famous for its burgers, hot dogs, chips and other types of junk foods😆 .....( but for meals, normally it depends on the region or state u are in....because there are people of so many nationalities here, various types of foods and cuisines are eaten.)

more famous people- Bill Gates ( owner of Microsoft and one of the richest people in the world)
