Before joining the team of Om Shanti Om, Deepika Padukone had enrolled in a Bachelors of Arts course at IGNOU and is till a student there.

The Love Aaj Kal babe is registered for a BA Sociology major. After OSO, she'd said in an interview that studies were extremely important for her, but she couldn't take her second year exams because she was busy. Deepika had emphasised that she would try to complete her bachelors as soon as she could.

A source in IGNOU confirmed that Deepika Padukone is indeed a student at IGNOU registered for all three years of BA Sociology. The source said that she has successfully passed her first year and is a second year student now, adding that she'll remain a student with the university till June 2011.
