Not sure when.. But yes in Maharashtrian culture, the Suhaag raat doesn't happen before the sathya narayan puja....

I am sure couples who go through an arranged marriage dont have a suhaag raat on the first night anyway. That would be way too weird. Or do they? I dont know. Maybe someone can clarify?

Thats true I had an arranged Marriage... On official first suhaag raat we just spent all night talking.... and next day... me and my husband were so sleepy... for him it was okay since it was his own home...I wanted to nap so badly , but could not, now we still laugh when we remember ....Infact for us it took couple of days. for actual SR.....Its too awkward....I also came from a very conservative family... that also adds up
