| Deepshikha in Johny Ala Re Parveen Babi look-alike Deepshikha cannot stop laughing since the last 48 hours. Reason? She has been shooting with comedy maestro Johny Lever for Akashdeep's Johny Ala Re.
The two episodes which will have Deepshi (as she is fondly called) doing an Anarkali and Lever doing a Salim. "It dwells on what would have happened if mobile phones had been there during the time of Mughal-e-Azam.
Johny and I go back a long way. We did quite a few films together. Plus we were supposed to do Bevdadas for Sahara which however did not happen." The shoot took place at Aram Nagar in Versova.
Akki leaves scissors behind
One certainly had a good laugh if not appreciated Akshay Kumar's little-stretched prop act at the 12th Annual Screen Awards held last week. Wondering what the prop was?
The golden statuette he received for tailoring his co-stars' portions in films. The spoof followed by Akki's live performance and Riteish Deshmukh making a back-stage entry to hit the actor did see our Bolly biggies in raptures.
While peering harder at the entertainer's straight face we realise that he couldn't carry the tag any longer. "A sheer case of overdose," a birdie informs. Poor boy, let's spare him now after all he has promised never to borrow the scissors from his hair-stylist again. Ashmit's birthday tale Actor Ashmit Patel celebrated his birthday on January 12 by flying to Kolkata with a group of friends.
After having a small bash in the City of Joy, he proceeded to Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh. It was not only to soak in the North East scenic beauty, but also to judge the Arunachal Pradesh beauty contest.
Apparently, he had a special invitation from the state government. With several of the local girls his fans, he found it tough to find that single one who could wear the crown. At least, here, a bit of acting helped. Kamal turns negative
Now that Om won't spring back to life as reported earlier 'Om won't rise from the dead' (hitList, January 11), the track of the Star Plus daily Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii will focus on his younger brother Kamal (Ali Asgar).
In a surprising move, the Balaji soap will have him turn negative from tonight's episode, which will come as a major blow to Parvati (Sakshi Tanwar). She is completely shattered, as Kamal has always been her constant supporter.
He has been with her and stood by her and Om at all times. Where Om and Parvati were known as Ram and Sita, Kamal has always be the Laxman. The reason to make Kamal, and not Sasha (Chetan Hansraj), take on Parvati serves some shock value. Kahaani has a real twist in its tale now.
Pooja Bhatt indisposed | | | Pooja Bhatt and Dino Morea | While Pooja Bhatt arranged for a private screening of her forthcoming film Holiday at Dimple, for her close friends and relatives, last week, ironically she herself could not make it to the occasion. Pooja was not feeling well and had to take rest.
But Holiday's hero Dino Morea more than made up for her absence, by looking after the guests in a very warm and caring manner.
Incidentally, the first quarter of 2006 is very crucial for this handsome guy; it's a second innings of sorts — Aksar, Holiday and Fight Club. Feeling nervous, Morea?
Bakhtyaar moves on After Batliwalla House No 43, actor-anchor Bakhtyaar Irani's professional life is certainly moving on.
After being a part of the SAB show, Lo Kal Lo Baat, he will soon be seen in The Great Indian Comedy Show (Star One) as well as in the new UTV soap, which stars Varun Badola, Rajeshwari Sachdev and Svetta Keswani. While in the former, he will regale with his stand-ups, in the latter he plays the role of a fashion designer.
Certainly lots happening on the work front as well as on the personal front (read, Tanaaz Currim) with whom he co-anchored the Aap Jaisa Koi concert for Sony. Raza's Bollywood
