Trust Salman Khan to create a riot, even if he is just dribbling a football. His soccer skills are nothing to write home about. He failed, twice to et the ball during a penalty stroke.

And, when he took to the ground initially, he had his designer perched on his nose. But that mattered little to enthusiastic fans who stormed the Suparitalav Grounds in Bandra during the penultimate moments of a thrilling contest between Salman 9 and Baba (Siddiqui) 9.

At this point, the scores read 2-2, the fate to be decided by a penalty shoot-out. Enter Sallu, taking position near the goalpost, swagger, style and ponytail in place. He missed the first strike. And the next. By the time the team could get ready for the third, the crowds took over. Repeated pleas by the commentator and players fell on deaf ears as fans mobbed their favourite Bandra boy.

Finally, the penalty shoot-out was dropped and a draw was declared.

The match was a special feature of the Baba Siddique 9x9 Football Challenge. The final was to be played between two local teams after this contest was over, but by the time the 'real' match began, the ground was empty.

After all, Salman and his entourage, including Ranbir Kapoor, Dino Morea, Sohail Khan and Vatsal Seth, had already left the venue, faithful fans and media persons in tow.
