'Bollywood will see the rapid rise of Saif'
Mumbai: "Shah Rukh's time is getting over," Bejan Daruwalla minces no words when he is quizzed about who will be on the mantle next year. But he rushes to add that it will be another two years before the current Badshah of Bollywood vacates his seat.
"I respect his (Shah Rukh's) energy. He is multi-talented and a truly secular person and also one of the finest actors the film industry has been. But this is the wheel of life and your fate keeps on changing. So it is natural that you won't be riding on the crest at all times. The downward slope (of Shah Rukh's career) is about to begin," predicts Bejan.
So, who's replacing him? Well, Bejan has a joint first Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan. "The film industry will see the rapid rise of this Khan (Saif) in the days to come. He was born on August 16 (1970). Ganesha tells me that this is the boy who's going to claim the throne of Bollywood. Aamir will keep on delivering for some years to come and will still be counted as a top actor concurrently," he tells.
What about the current crop of actors? Well, Bejan has his money on Ranbir Kapoor. "Over the next few years, you will see this guy coming up very rapidly. He will be one of the top stars in Bollywood in just two to three years. I feel that he will be the top actor in Bollywood after a few years," he adds.
