Shd 1 b 100% honest in relationship or No

Hi guys i thought lets bring in some new topics to debate on this slow long weekend .

So my question is Should one be 100 % honest in a relationship with a partner - spousal , boyfriend / girl friend ...................or is it better to hold back truth or even lie if need be .

One theory is , "lets start a relationship by telling 100 % truth about the past, so that there is no misunderstanding !!"

Another theory is " Too much truth or information( say about the past) can be detrimental to a relationship...................therefore its better to tell a WHITE lie or hold back information about the past that can hurt the future !!!!!!!"

I know most of you out there are unmarried and may not have experience ..............but you may want to think out of example you know with family or friend . Or its that you are old enough what would you do in a relationship??

As for the married people or people in a relationship .............lets discuss gyaan and experience .

hey! i think one should never reveal 100% truth in any relationship specially if it a man/woman relationship. i feel that basically because, the mental attitude towards mistakes one makes in life is not the same. the men tend to be less forgiving. and more biased. for instance you have an arguement with your friend and repeat it to your boyfriend/spouse. a month or so later you have resolved the matter with your friend and continue from where you left off. or if you were sharing the lives and mistakes of the members of your parental side. your spouse would definitely not take it lightly. either you get taunted or you get laughed off as a silly person with no definite ideas.

another aspect is the interpretation of whatever the matter is. no two people need interpret a statement similarly. generally the male partner's view on a subject is rather harsh to be practical, than a female partner who is more emotional and softer and is more often than not, practical at the same time! i honestly believe that being harsh and practical most times do not help, and the softer side will win you more in life than otherwise!

therefore it is definitely wiser to keep somethings to yourself.

I think 100% honesty is possible.If u start telling a lie then to hide it you have to start another lie.Lie rate will keep on increasing.Then one fine day it may burst.First the couples should be understanding each other well.Once it happens then i think 100% honesty is possible.
If the partner is not at all understanding u then it is better to keep some issues within yourself..

100% is not possible yaar I think 97.67% honesty can happen baki percentage to make your partner happy by telling small small lie for eg:you are the beautiful,you look so cute like that things😛

According to me , its very neccesary for a couple to hold back information from each other to keep happiness in the marriage .

And need be tell teeny weeny lies that i think are white lies .
In my personal experience , every time you go blabber about your family , whats happening in Ma ka ghar .....who did what , who said what. Eventually these things often get thrown back into your face .

Also if any one person in the relationship had a past relationship . Its best not to divulge too much information on that front . I mean go ahead and explain you had a boyfriend/GF or ex- fiance or ex- hubby/Wife ......But leave out the romantic times you must have spent with each other . No matter how much the partner asks , its best to not get in to it . You bet some day it may get thrown into your face .

And lets say you both disagree on some crucial matter and have spent days trying to resolve it and won't budge from your decision . Then if you plan to go ahead with what your partner won't like , don't tell him or her .example - your best friend wants to borrow cash from you . Your partner disagrees . Well if it really matters to you and you plan to do it anyways . Don't tell your partner about unless he asks.............where did the money go ???!!!!

p.s - Please remember i am no where talking about major wrong things like example - cheating .

...nice topic apparna... 👏 you are definetly into mode of new topics this week.... i totally agree with jasunap and aparna. It is better to hold the truth sometimes and you need not reveal all about your past and some examples like aparna said. Trying to hold back some facts about your past or other things which may lead you happy married life then why not...it's not like you are cheating your partner. Also, as Jasunap said, two people may interpret one thing different way and why invite unwanted difference of openion in marriage life... as if their are less diffences... 😉

If u had lied in the past than thats gonna definently hurt ur future.So its better that we shud not speak any lie a single time in our life so that we wont spoil r own life/future.So wht i think is that k one shud never speak lie.......1 shud always speak the truth and saying the truth and being honest in relationships will make them very much stronger + the relationship also.......thats it

big lies will harm the relation ship but lil white lies will make the relationship stronger
