Very well put. They are merely cashing on these 16-17 year old kids emotions in the name of MUSIC. I feel bad for each and everyone of them. It sucks big time.

Thank you, but is Gs listening? Hecan only hear the cash counters ringing.

Very sensitive and caring post!!!👏 👏 👏

Sometimes I worry about the health of these kids too. They are so young, and under so much pressure. When we feel the pressure so much when our favorite candidates are in danger, imagine how much anxiety they must be going thru ?? And to add to all that, they have to give one outstanding performance week after week, otherwise they are OUT, or deemed "inconsistent" !!! Kids can develop medical problems under so much stress…

I really and sincerely hope none of them suffers any psychological problems after this contest…

Another point… it really shows how important upbringing is… someone who is religious and calm like Nihira seems strong enough to take these knocks without losing balance…

I feel the pressure is more on family members. The contestants atleast have a performance to concentrate on. Only thing that the family members can do is pray and hope for the best.

From the interviews, I think the pressure seems to be on the contestants too because they all seem to want to win it for their mother or father. At 17 years, they are all displaying tremendous maturity.
Reality TV is a part of life now and the thought of earning big bucks and fame is luring more and more people. Some of the shows here in America are disgusting. Hope India does not follow suit.
Music_pulse, maybe you can pen your next thoughts in form of a poem?

This wont change unless humans are no longer interested in seeing someone else's discomfort.

Reality TV isnt the only thing which exploits the emotions of people. TV Soaps, Fictional Novels are equally responsible for doing so.

Can't blame the makers when the public thrives on this kind of thing. Without tension, without shock-value, without humiliation, reality shows or any show for that matter would not be interesting and be written off as pure academia. Or in other words, boring.

The original "academia", had caught everybody's imagination and was very popular. I do not know, but was this show initially announced as "reality" show. or plainly as a music contest? It had a good reputation to keep up, remember?

Thank you, but I am not a poet, but a writer. I will try, then do not complain😉
