'We, as young India, ought to ask... where are we headed as a people, as a country? The youth is our driving force, Shahid & Priyanka More Pics
our thinking minds, but Shahid & Priyanka More Pics
if we put our lives into this country... will we be given the opportunity, will our full potential be
exploited? What is the government giving us? What are we getting for the taxes we are paying? But more important is, what are we doing for the country? It's great to be young in India. But are we ready and able to steer the country? Only young India can lead India today. And I'm glad my elected representative can give me answers, can have a conversation with me and understand my problems, whether I'm in Mumbai or Gorakhpur. The youth must understand that we have the option to take charge of our lives, so stop blaming the world.'

'It's time for young India to get real. Our decisions are going to matter soon. So we need to empower ourselves. But like that dialogue in Spiderman, with great power comes great responsibility. The day I became a man, I realised how much fun it was to be a kid, when everything was taken care of for me. It takes a lot to be who you want to be, but it's possible. I'm happy and proud that the youth are in politics today. I myself cannot be that person, so I'm wishing somebody of my age, with the same space and mentality, runs the country for us. India is the second fastest growing economy the world. But the pressures are greater. That's what life is about. You learn to count upon yourself and deal with it.'

Priyanka and Shahid put up five questions each that might be sent to Rahul Gandhi, MP and Congress general secretary. This is what they came up with:
Shahid
1 What according to you are the five key issues that the government should be focusing on in the next 10 years?
2How would you suggest the youth channelise itself towards self-empowerment?
3The compulsory education law for children between the age group of six and 14 has been passed. How does the government plan to implement it?
4What steps would you take to strengthen the security of the country and how do you plan to deal with the burning issue of terrorism?
5 What policies and plans, in terms of tax break, rewards, recognition, would you put in place to encourage the entertainment industry to produce better quality work?
Priyanka
1 During your recent election campaign, you travelled across the country, meeting people from all walks of life. Do you think that as a country we are ready to do whatever it takes to achieve our full potential?
2Very importantly, do you think that the youth of this country is willing to participate and contribute in the growth?
3 Where does education, both basic and specialised, fit into your list of priorities for the country?
4 Besides corruption and a large population, what are the big problems we face as a nation today?
5 How do you plan to mobilise bright young minds to push forward the growth of the nation?
