"I believe that prayer can and does make a difference"

Actor Maninee De tells BT that her faith in the power of prayers has never been shaken

Ihave faith in astrology, numerology and also tarot card reading, but I never get swayed. I never let anything dominate me as I always have a rational approach towards life. My mother is an IAS officer and she has instilled an objective outlook in me. Its almost five years ago that I, on my own, changed my spelling from Manini to Maininee. It just happened that once I filled up a form accidentally by that name and I liked it, so I decided to stick to it. Often, I consult tarot card reader Ofar Cohen as I find his tarot card readings quite accurate. I feel psychologically de-stressed after meeting tarot card readers and astrologers and swing back to action soon. Mihir and I got married after considering an auspiscious date. As far as cars go, I have followed basic numerology for the car plate numbers.
I love wearing diamonds and gemstones but only once did I wear a blue sapphire for four years, but later it cracked on its own. After that, I haven't worn any gemstones purely for astrological reasons. I have immense unwavering faith in the almighty and also in the power of prayer. It gives me strength and courage to go on in life. My faith in the power of prayer has never been never shaken, it keeps getting affirmed.
I am not in to rituals, but I do chant my prayers daily, and offer water to the Sun God. Since the last few years, I have gotten into Buddhism, but I also recite Hanuman Chalisa and Mother Mary's prayers. I always thank God at night. Yes, I believe that a prayer can and does make a difference. It can be a source of strength, comfort, and inspiration. I always keep a bowl of water with flowers outside my home; I also ensure that there are no leaking taps. I have not kept any picture depicting war scenes at home. I don't wear any lucky charm except red sindoor on my forehead after my marriage.
I feel that there is no substitute for hard work in life, you have to do your karma in life. Merely wearing certain stones cannot give success. You have to be motivated in life to achieve your goals. Hard work, karma and stars all work in conjunction.
