Today's episode was excellent in the fact that Kanha finally punished these two women. The way these woman have used both daughters as pawns to put on a show in front of the world was sickening. Kanha waited and waited and gave them so many opportunities to correct the sins they started with this marriage and the second hand treatment they have given a child Shastriji chose to get in his house, we finally got to see kanha's krodh/anger in the humiliation that has befallen this family and now Shastriji's refusal to live his life anymore.
What could be more saddening for Devki and Amma that their own husband/son does not want to live, even for them anymore? Due to these women, he lost his self respect and his will to live but in the end these tears or pleas will not correct what is wrong, only the truth will.
For Devki: Her silent approval of the wrong doings Amma perpetrated resulted in both her daughters leaving the house and her husband wanting to kill himself. She failed miserably as a mother first and foremost but more so as a wife. She failed to understand Vishaka and failed to trust Radhika. She helped Amma commit sin after sin when she should have taken her husband into confidence. As a woman, she is crying and pleading now but where were these tears when a sin was being performed and why is she still quiet? She is about to lose her husband, even now she hasn't opened her mouth. I hope she does with the truth at the Jal samadhi...
For Amma: Her time of reckoning by feeding everyone false faith and reasons for the Dev and Vishaka marraige is finally here. This woman has sinned her entire family and today to see her beg, hold and touch radhika's feet was itself unbelievable. She finally came to the person she regarded as untouchable and unfortunate to touch her and beg for forgiveness and ask her for her son's life and take her home. A woman of the house, especially an elder woman paves the way for peace, prosperity, right and wrong in a family, she threw a family down a cliff and now the entire family is destroyed. I am curious to see how Amma treats Radhika once she is home, what then?
God's ways are strange, it is said that in this kalyug, everyone gets punished for their sins in this lifetime only, even on this show, I am glad that these women are paying the price for what they did. As Anu pointed out in an earlier post, bhagvan ki laati mein der hai andher nahi....
They ruined many lives- most prominently of their daughters and now about to lose the head of their family, a decent moral man who has lost everything. The pain of an actual death is quite unbearable, the pain that Shastriji felt considering his alive daughter dead must have been more so. Radhika will save her father but how does a family get back to normal from here? Will the RaDev marraige be the catalyst for happiness?
