Hi everyone,

I know that some of you like buying books and some like borrowing from the Library.

Personally, I love to buy books. However, I'm often asked by friends and family if they can borrow a good book. I normally say sure, however sometimes (more often than not) I don't get my books back, which really irritates me because its normally the really good books that I love, but I don't like to be rude and demand my books back, so I'm left in a bind!

My question to you wonderful book lovers out there is:

1. When a friend lends you a book, do you always return it??? (Common now be brutally honest😉😆)

2. Any hints for other lost souls like me, to get our books back, without being rude? (Common admit it, there are a few of you like me out there😉😆)

3. Do you lend books or do you borrow? (I know this is the borrow or buy question phrased differently, but humor me if you please!)

2. Any hints for other lost souls like me, to get our books back, without being rude? I have had people take orther things from me and not give it back and i just let it it go but for my books i dont let them take it.. I usally say someone else needs to borrow it.. 😆

3. Do you lend books or do you borrow? I honestly only let the people borrow my books that i trust!! I try to avoid borrowing books from others!!

I agree with you. I'm a really possessive person when it comes to my things. I take really good care of them and am really annoyed if someone doesn't return them or returns me in the worse condition than I gave them.

I like to get books from the library and read them, if I really like them I'll buy them too. Although there have been a few books that I just bought.

My question to you wonderful book lovers out there is:

1. When a friend lends you a book, do you always return it??? (Common now be brutally honest😉😆)

I always do. I just feel really awkward and really terrible if I don't return anyone's thing that I borrowed. I feel as if I'm holding something that's not mine and I never feel alright about it until I return it to the original owner.

2. Any hints for other lost souls like me, to get our books back, without being rude? (Common admit it, there are a few of you like me out there😉😆)

That's always my concern too.. without being rude. And it's so hard. Generally for me, I feel terrible asking for my OWN thing instead of them feeling bad about keeping my thing. What I do is everytime I see them, I mention the book in one or the other so they never forget that they are still holding on it. 😳 After awhile, they are embarrassed themselves and return them 😆

I usually borrow from the library and sometimes lend to my friends.

dont know about other things but my advicei s please dont lend your books to anyone i lost two hp books to a stupid proffessor who got away some place without returning the books an he wont even take my calls.

and yeah i never borrow books form anyone though if i borrow i am damn sure ill give it back.

as far as tips are concerned i would have got my books back from him if id knew how to get them back *whines*.

i know how it feels...it sucks to borrow books from someone..i always lend my books..I have so many that i dont even remember how many i have given to different people..i am always on the lending side...if u have to take ur book back...ask them to return politely or maybe you can be a little rude too...:)..it's your book afterall...
i always return the book whenever i take it from my best friend..there is no library around...:(...it is the basic courtesy to give back the books or anything u have borrowed from people......

I know exactly what you are talking about,Shellytt😊 It is so irritating when you lend books to people & they don't have enough courtesy to return it to you after a reasonable period of time😡 I too love buying books & wheneverI buy a book I love to come home & place it in my bookrack & admire the new addition😳 I just love seeing all my books in neat rows in my bookrack & when I lend a book it leaves a gap in my rack so I can't wait to get my book back.I know it sounds ridiculously totally childish & over-possessive but that's the way it is with me😳

Plus,I have really bad experience lending books to my friends & cousins who never return them to me.I once lent one of my books to a cousin.After sometime,when I visited her place,I saw the book just lying on the floor of her bedroom!😡 After that I firmly made up my mind never to lend a single book of mine to anybody else.

Yes,I'm restless until I do so I always try to finish reading it ASAP & return it ASAP.

2. Any hints for other lost souls like me, to get our books back, without being rude?

Most of the time I too feel awkward asking for the books back. so what I do is send a text message.Here's a sample😛; "Hey,I was just wondering if you could return this book coz I told another friend of mine who was going to buy it that he/she doesn't need to buy it coz I've got it & could lend it to him/her"😛 I know it amounts to a (white) lie but hey,desperate times call for desperate measures,right?😆

3.) Occasionally,if I come across friends of mine having books that I'd like to read I ask them whether they have finished reading them & if they say yes & I could borrow them,then I do.But most of the time I just save money & buy books😃

Lol same I never know how to "subtly hint" at getting a book back, 😕 hmmm maybe try just mentioning it everytime you talk to them, or which is kinda bad but Ive done before, is pretend you think you lost it yourself, at really worried that you can't find it, and hope they'll feel guilty and give it back

Borrow from the library or sometimes from friends, lend myself occasionally but probs borrow more just cos I dont have many of my own books to lend

i really feel bad when my friends dnt return my books, u knw my frnd took my favourite book n havent returned it till now its abt 1 n half yrs.. evn i askd once bt i felt awkward while asking fr it..though i havent got it yet🤢

i usually lend books frm library nt frm frnds much!

Hahaa... i hate lending my books to anyone, i just pretend that i don't have the book or if i do i'm still reading it 😆

I don't like borrowing books from my friends either, but my friends always lending me books to read because my taste and her tastes are sort of similar so she just wants me to read it first😆

I don't think anyone here really likes to lend books unless you're a very big-hearted, giving person😆

but yeah i do neither.

Well..ur situation is common..don wrry i thnk u'll get it back..

I borrow 4m d library as well as buy books..but only if there's a sale..😆

- I return all the books i borrow. But sometimes i take some time to read, so tend to return it late.

- I give books to friends too. I do'nt mind if they return it late but i want them back! So i keep asking them how much did u read? 😉

- You can also try what i do. n probably they'll get the hint. n do u really mind if they return it late? After all you've aldready read it!
