Saif barred from joking!

Problems for Saif Ali Khan seem to be unending. The actor-turned producer's forthcoming film Love Aaj Kal, in which he plays the role of a sardar, had recently run into serious trouble when a Sikh Community had raised objections for his trimmed beard look.

Saif, who prefers to play it safe, left no stone unturned to ensure that all goes fine for the film and arranged a special screening for the members of the Sikh Community. He had even invited them on the sets to guide him in essaying the character efficiently. However, he missed out on one glitch in the script for which he has to go through an ordeal once again. Apparently, now the censor board have objections over a scene from the film which takes a dig at sardars. What's worse, the scene has Saif himself mouthing the joke 'Ek sardar tha...'

Talking about the issue, Vinayak Azad, regional officer of the censor board said that they don't want Saif to face problems again and hence have asked the director Imtiaz Ali to snip the scene from the film or either change it from Ek Sardar tha to Ek Aadmi Tha. He further revealed that the filmmakers have agreed to do the amendments.

I hope he is punished for his this bad joke about some community people of our country and every actor should learn a lesson to think before they open their big gobs !! 🤓

hmmm...i've seen a lot of sardars with trimmed beards
what the heck? people just need something to be angry about...be thankful that they are portraying the role of a sardar and spreading the culture throughout bollywood industry! jeeez.

Umm...Mona Singh is a sikhni as well, and during the independence day parade in NY she herself made a sardaar joke.

we don't even know what is at the end of that "ek sardar tha" line. people sometimes do get too serious about religious/community sentiments in india.

i just want this movie to release without hiccups. and can come on if we have that atrocious snoop dogg number in SIK, then relatively LAK seems extremely tame.
