Howz Balika Vadhu different from any other soap?

It is touted as an attempt to familiarize us with the ill effects of child marriage but HOW? I'm following BV from a long time & I still love it..It's entriguing..therez never a dull moment in the show but I feel that it's like another show which is on air......Anandi is the balika vadhu but she's absolutely fine in the serial..Whatever restrictions were put on her, or if Dadisa is strict with her, well that happens with every normal girl who gets married in a conservative family..Dadisa is no different with her other 2 daughter in laws.....How exactly are they showing that child marriage takes away your childhood ????? or it's bad in what way??? i guess the only issue which they took up was Anandi's education..she studied at her parents place but Dadisa didn't let her continue her studies after marriage.....so that happens in every other serial on telly...in yrkkh, the heroine's in laws object to her attending college after marriage.....I believe Anandi has everything at her disposal, loving mom in law and father in law, a good family, all comforts of life ...

Dadisa shouts at all her bahus bcuz she considers them minor..bt 4 Anandi..she shouts at her basically bcuz she's very irresponsible..bt c;mon she's a child..!..so i thnk tats wt they're tryin 2 show thru dis show..

I used to watch this serial when the focus was on Anandi-Jagya, but now I have stopped watching as i find the Sugna-Shyam track very boring..

Actually i am not look ing forward t gehna track either!! I mean how can a girl accept a person as her husband who is her fathers age..eeks!

Moreover, B+S got their daughter Sugna remarried rather than asking her to complete her studies..

Jeez they are portraying women as such weak characters!

I agree with all u guys, but if u make a show with a sad tale attached to each and every character then the show will be like any other show unwatchable. When I see this show, I try to relax get my mind off everything. If u show everyone crying and make it very realistic it will be a pathetic storyline to watch.

This show is watchable at the same time it conveys a message.

Suguna is shown married instead of being educated. She was shown as 3 months pregnant when it was discovered that she was expecting. What more can u do to a woman who is 3 months pregnant and is carrying a baby and her husband with whom technically speaking she has not spent a day is dead. Woman like these are ostracized by society and also their own family to say the least. Showing remarriage that too of pregnant woman, even though this may not happen in reality is a welcome change and should be shown.

It is impossible for dowry divorcees and widows to get married in our society. Showing anything that changes the mindset or sets the minds in thinking in that direction should be encouraged.

The other shows on Zee and the Ekta Kapoor shows are lousy and unwatchable. I completely support Balika Vadhu and its creators👏. The producers and directors have done a wonderful job in this day and era when every show is full of unnecessary killings and silly logic.........😡

methinks the main difference b/w this show and others is the tone. the makers tone here is 'see this is what all anandi, gehna or suguna is missing...dont let this happen to ur child'. whereas the tone in other shows is glorification of doormat behavior in women. when sadhna in bidaai tolerates her mother's or aunt's taunts without uttering a word it is supposed to show the patience of an indian woman. same for radhika in choti bahu whose whole life is dedicated to sacrificing for her near and dear ones. that is supposed to her greatness. so in other words a woman should tolerate all sorts of insults heaped on her for no fault of hers and eventually one day the lord will take pity and make things right for her(which in serials lasts for one day before problems start again). then there is akshara whose sole aim in life is to get married. nothing wrong with that...many women are like that and even BV had suguna who was similar but lets see what fate awaits akshara post marriage. im guessing her inlaws will blame her for all their problems but she will quietly bear it since thats what her sanskar says.
of all the shows i'd vote for BV and agle janam which atleast have gutsy women protagonists. mind u in BV anandi, suguna and gehna...all 3 are protagonists. anandi had and still has her share of problems but she also has her happy moments. same goes for gehna. but yes when it comes to suguna i feel the makers have erred. though her problems are real the solution to her problems has too many flaws.

I think that the other social issues which they took, like Sugna's remarriage, Gehna's story, phuli's storyis closer to reality and it's more touching and thought provoking....

I'm sorry if i offended someone with this post..but these thoughts were wandering in my mind from the time this issue was taken up in the parliament..

But,Anandi seems perfectly well off wid the bal vivah ...

When the issue was raised in Rajya Sabha, it was said that serials like Balika Vadhu are glorifying child marriage..i was trying to figure out how..

Yeah..its true tat she's enjoyin...😆..but der r times wen she misses her parents n feel's sorta lonely...n maybe she's trying 2 adjust to the family..n so maybe she's hvn fun..!

Yeah..they're showing a lot of realistic stories..n i think they did focus on child marriage..only tyn is tat it wasnt on Jaan..like the Phuli case was also an example of child marriage..!..n even Sugna's...but the focus is nt only on Jaan..tats wt i wanna say..but the concept of child marriage is still present..😊
