Here is a light hearted topic for a slight change. I'm always amused at silly mistaken identities that take place on online forums. For example I've been assumed to be male as well as a witch. 😆 CP and POH have both been assumed female. It seems that there is a lot of room for mistaken identities.

So lets discuss these silly misunderstandings and impressions we have. Share your stories of how you mistook somene's age gender personality etc. Has that happened to you. On what basis do you try to assume personlities - serious, funny, intelligent, annoying etc. Have you misjudged people. Have people assumed things about your personality that are quite contrary.

OH yes i have been in DM since mant years and i used to souro/soumya is a girl. and even POH i thought was a girl mainly bcoz of prachi desia and also from his comments.

Has that happened to you. On what basis do you try to assume personlities - serious, funny, intelligent, annoying etc.
well i think a persons post speciall in DM says a lot abt a person's personality. their thought process their ideology and many other things. and yes it is possible to find abt their personalities as if they r funny or serious etc.

Umm, my gender is pretty clear to most people, for whatever unknown reason (perhaps someone can enlighten me). Personally, I find myself to be a good judge of gender here on the forum. Now, I don't know whether that's because people make it a point to make their gender clear to me or because I can read into writing styles that way.

Having said that, I won't say that I have no stories to tell, because I most certainly do. 😆

Once, a girl offered to "make my night", mistaking me for a guy. Still sends shivers down my back and gives me nightmares.

Another time, a guy had a long debate me with me, ongoing for several posts. Then he said, I just realized you're a girl, and I don't like arguing with the ladies. Loser.

Oh, apart from gender, I have been called Aunty on the forum once. But I think that was partly to annoy me. Although I don't want to act like Aishwariya, I still do not think my age is that of an aunty's. And therefore, I had a very severe desire to strangle that certain someone.

On DM, everyone's gender was pretty clear. I think Clodpolish's age was a little iffy to me initially. And I remember surprising an older DM member when I said POH (or stranger@mirror back then) was a boy. I remember being told I was wrong. Its a girl - but in the end I was right. 😆

Oh is it really that amusing? I have never seen you laugh this way. 😆 Yes, we are discussing virtual mishaps, so this one was definitely virtual. 😆

Would I let a guy make my night? That depends on who the guy is and what his idea of "making my night" is. Personally, as long as I get sufficient sleep, my night is made, but God knows what other's peoples thoughts are.

Till now i haven't really misunderstood anyone's gender cos i guess i don't assume it in the first place until the writings of the person themself some day or the other give it away.😆

Regarding the stories does this count:

When we (friend and all) were 5-6 years younger then we were mischievous. We used the popular way to take revenge on irritating/enemy guys. One guy will take up a female chat name on the messenger and then will trap that irritating guy. After some days there used to be exchange of "love you" messages and irritating guy used to be in love. The fun used to start after that.

One day I even sat on irritating guy's comp and sent some funny messages to his "female friend". "Female friend" got "angry" and that guy got depressed and angry with me. 😉 Thats just one case.

I accept it is wrong, but we were younger and we learn things gradually. Now, we won't do that even on enemies. I would like to discourage younger and mischievous people because why waste time on unproductive things?

Why is it that everyone considers me to be a a at the first sight? 😆 My, can't a guy like Prachi, too? 😆 In fact logically speaking, it should be the guy liking Prachi, no? 😆
