Filmmaker Pooja Bhatt has rescheduled the release of her film on February 10, to coincide with the Valentine Day celebrations. The film was earlier slotted for a January 6 release but Pooja confesses that she wanted some more time to work on the pre-release campaign for the film. "I felt it would be the perfect 'Holiday' for the Valentine's Day crowd," she reveals.
In the intervening period, she also intends to clear the misconceptions about the film that are doing the rounds in the trade. One of them is the contention that the film is a remake of DIRTY DANCING. "I don't know from where this rumor has originated but the truth is that DIRTY DANCING tells the story of sexual awakening of a young girl after she goes on a holiday. On the other hand my film hardly has anything to do with sexual awakening. It is about an ordinary and plain-looking girl, with a gawky face who is not comfortable with her looks and comes of age when she undergoes an inner transformation and emerges a confident person ready to take on the world," Pooja reveals. She also denies that the character in her film has a close semblance to that of 'Jassi' in the popular serial, JASSI JAISI KOI NAHI. "The character of Onjolee in my film does not have a makeover like 'Jassi'. She comes to terms with her own personality and looks and that is her biggest victory," she says.
Pooja also makes it a point to clarify that her film is not a multiplex film as is being perceived in the film trade. "The character that Onjolee plays in the film is definitely not a multiplex character of a South Mumbai chic, whom the young audiences will connect to. The film is all about following your heart and attaining success, which every person would like to," she says.
