hello dear subjects,
first things first, the king is in no way against this show. in fact he has enjoyed the US version moment of truth n uk version which was hosted by jerry springer.

firstly this format of this show is such tht it intrudes into the privacy of another person. yes the contestants come their on their free will to earn money but is it right for the makers to play with others emotions. as we are all humans and have our share of darkness. is it right to cash in on that.

secondly is this show suited for our indian audience. we as viewers can enjoy the awkwardness of the contestants but is it the same for their familes. the king read tht many families were broken n fell apart after coming on the show. if that can happen in the western world imagine what will happen in india considering we are a more conservative lot.

Well.... You are right....!
But the contestant should decide whether they are at the risk of breaking their family or not..
The show is offering a lot of money....and if a person is coming on the show.....knowing what kind of questions are to be asked to him....and knowing that there is a lie-detector test.....Then he/she is asking for it !!
They can decide not to do the show.....They are given a period of 20-30 days to think about it ...!
Also about watching such shows on TV........I think that is why the show has been given a late time slot....so that not many school going children are up at that time.....and mostly adults will watch the show !!
What falls into the purview of Ethical for one person may seem Unethical to the other....
But I sure think this is an intriguing show !!
I hope it does not get Banned in India !!
Regardz,
Vandu

I agree. I was thinking about that too. Moments of Truth being in the US I enjoyed. Indian society as it is some living still in the middle ages. Many closed off, what happens in the marriage and family stays in closed doors. ITS all a RISK people are taking for money. It's a show no one is forced into it. But for Money in these hard times people will come to do mostly anything. But I feel it's too intense for the indian audience. Many will watch it I gather many husbands and wives will look at eachother kinda different now in some ways. As I suspect in many places in India is of if one's wife or husband does it that means it might be happening in my family too. As with families falling apart again it's a risk they knew or felt what might be revealed. So the question would be
IS THE MONEY WORTH LOSING YOUR FAMILY FOR?? If the Family is not open minded and still mentally the old fashion ways of thinking and doing stuff.....ALL REVEALED WILL SEPARATE THEM. IS THE MONEY WORTH LOSING IT ALL???

Well i feel that the person takes the risk on his/her own cost...........they r given the time to reconsider their decision and also given the rules and also letting them know the repercussions too..............the main thing for the individual can be to let out his/her guilt and also face the world in a more better way.............people in India are really conservative in many ways in many issues but however everything has its positive and also negative effects which every1 knows..............positive that they have said and accepted their guilt and wrong doings and feel light-hearted and carry on with a fresh start with more clear mind and heart........and that can be lesson also not to comit the same again...........and negative some people might get offened especially related to them........but they should empathise with that person...........which we dont do.............but no 1 in this world is perfect..................atleast the contestant has the guts to say it out................it might also help them in their relationship..............

but i feel that they by saying their truth they r being rewarded for that and not the other way round like since am getting money so i will say abt me..............

a person first has make himself be ethical to his values...........

as far as ethics is concerned no reality show is completely ethical it does go unethical some where down the line so questioning ethics in such a show is of no use

as far as intrusion is concerned yea the show does intrude but i think it is done with the consent of the person so there is no problems

well it mite b unethical .....but if the participant himself is letting his life into public for money .....then i dun guyess we can blame teh channel or teh producer!! i guess its the participants own responsibility and choice tht whetehr they shud go on wit it or not!! they know tht their moment of truth can break their relationships but if still they wanna go ahead then i guess we shud juss sit back n watch!!

Ethical or not...really depends on the individual...yes, I agree that its a hit..or atleast a famous reality tv series in the west. In India, the values and ethics are different..we have a different culture...many ppl here wouldn't really approve of shows like these...as its tooo personal...sometimes, you not only loose money but respect also... I agree with u guys, that it really depends on the individual and the weightage he/she gives to family values and money...

Well, not everything is perfect. and I agree there are some flaws with this show too.
They have already modified questions according to indian mindset. So, I dont think it will be right to compare it with american version. Though, they can still try to avoid marriage breaking questions like the last question on 1st episode.
So in short, I like the concept of show, and would love it if they avoid the pitfalls like not giving contestants any money even if only one question was wrong according to polygraph test. also, they should molify the questions further for indians. if they do this, show will be a tremendous success story in my view.

It's about time......when our movies have advanced with so much of s** and double meaning dialogues and we have an audience to watch those kind of movies we also have an audience who are bold enough to answer such question. No one forced those people to answer the questions and no one is forcing the viewers to watch the show.
