^ I think that was another one, b/c i know they didnt have a statement frm akkki in the previous article.

but etheir way, its not confirmed and dont know how realiable the source is. Hope Deepa or Akkki say something soon about the movie :)

The story of Komagata Maru is really tragic; the ship wasn't allowed to dock for a grand total of two months before it was sent back. It is very refreshing to see that Akshay might move away from the comedy genre after all!

Speaking of independent films, Kumar sounds less-than-enthusiastic about Deepa Mehta's "Komagata Maru," based on the true story of a shipload of Punjabi immigrants turned away from Vancouver port. " 'Komagata Maru' is still a bit far away; we're in the process, so I don't know exactly" what its status is, he said. "It's going to take them another year. I am still attached to that film … at the moment."

deepa mehta was bz in her daughter's wedding, thats what last time i read abt her.....now few kamagata maru news r coming out , so i m just wishing they have started working on this project😃

Yes it is. And then once they reached Calcutta, the Britian Indian police was awaiting their arrival, and many of the people aboard were killed, some were hung later on.

Well, I can't wait to see if this happens. It sounds like a very interesting albeit tragic story. Also, I think this will really show a different side of Akki, so I hope they start filming soon.
