I haven't been watching MJHT for the past 5-6 weeks and if you're a die-hard 'original MN' fan I don't need to explain why. So here I am, completely relieved that the darned play is over - no more Varun-Esha analogues, horrendously cheesy dialogues🤢🤢, and supposedly emotional trauma...Or so I hope. But when it comes to MJHT or MN for that matter, hoping is downright futile...
Being a 'negative' MN fan, I did not watch today's entire episode except the last part and perhaps that's why the hug seemed alright to me. The confession, I will not like I know, not because of the cheesy dialogues, but because the circumstances that lead to this 'defining' point in the MN relationship were far from realistic.
How sad it is that what was supposed to be the crux of their love story was handled so terribly. *sigh*
Anyway, letting bygones be bygones as is the way in this world, where do MN take off from here?
I've noticed how the creatives love using MN for comic relief resulting in their best scenes being the nok-jhonk ones. MN were consideraby well handled during the initial months of the show - this comprised mainly of nok-jhonks and trying to outdo one another...
The exam track albeit boring, MN were still in character. They were just irritating, cuz of stagnant fighting.
The jungle track (Huge sigh), though continued with their nok-jhonks, the premises were fresh and different and thus they had better scenes again...
After the PHENOMENAL barn episode, which I daresay, defined MN, the confusion and randomness began *dramatic music*...And it all began with Mayank:
Phase 1: Goggling at Nupur
Phase 2: Being sadu with Nupur
Phase 3 : Realization of his love for Nupur
Phase 4: Flirtatious and annoyingly overconfident with Nupur
Phase 5: Confused and then confessing his love to Nupur
PHEW!
And through all these, I must admit, the angel that looked after our drunk 'Jhaansi ki Rani' in the barn, took flight and left it's respective alter egos in each phase. Neither of them was the Mayank I loved...*sigh*
How could their lovestory not have failed?
Nupur's following him, sudden shyness and confusion also added to this potboiler, I'm afraid.
The ONLY thing that felt sane and logical in the midst of all this nonsense, was Mayank's mom...
And now that she's making a comeback can she possibly redeem them and their story?
The creatives DID NOT know (didn't care, rather) how to make them fall in love with proper dialogues and instances...Everything was rushed and hence, unconvincing.
Keeping in mind that MN could possibly be back to their old selves (with the undercurrent of love of course), without any emotional trauma to haunt them, Dare I Hope?
