not sure if we are supposed to discuss this here or not...but anyways...
nosh...a woman's place is definitely better today compared what it was say 20 years back. biggest example are women like nanda who run the family along with their husbands. but there is still lots of scope for improvement as in women like pooja who tolerate abuse from their husbands as they think its their duty as a wife. such mindsets need to change in a lot of ppl and there is scope for improvement.
but nosh its not a india specific problem...problems like domestic abuse and eve teasing exist in western countries too in a big way.

It hasn't gotten like that. It was always like that 😕

As a teenager, I experienced a lot of these atrocities in Mumbai. Especially in local trains. There was ladies compartment and adjoining to that, there used to be a male compartment. This compartment had a small window (also called as video coach in the local lingo) from where these men (even the so-called-decent-looking ones) used to peek at women of all sizes and ages and make passes.

At one time, my mother advised me to take along an umbrella to hit anyone who tried to act fresh especially in busy hours.
