What's this odd connection between Rani Mukherji and Rakhi Sawant? First Rani caricatured Rakhi Sawant's diction in Saawariya. Now she's set to dance an item number with her. Both the girls are busy preparing for their dance number together in Yash Raj Film's Dil Bole Hadippa!.

The item number, titled 'Bhangra bistar' is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Alisha Chinai. These singers are considered by YRF as their lucky mascots for giving them 'Dhoom machale' in Dhoom and 'Kajrare' in Bunty Aur Babli. Our source says, "Yash Raj's two biggest hits in recent times have been the Dhoom films and Bunty Aur Babli. So the banner insisted on them singing 'Bhangra bistar' as they want to make the song a sure-fire hit." The song is a rumbustious Punjabi track composed by Pritam.

Apparently, Rani spent weeks getting into shape before they began rehearsing for the song. She took it as a challenge to match steps with Bollywood's original item girl. Our source adds, "As Rani is dressed like a man for the major part of the film, the idea was to get Rani to do that one sizzling feminine number to balance the gender bender. Just like Saira Banu did a 'Thoda sa thehro' in Victoria No. 203 where as was dressed as man, Rani has 'Bhangra bistar' in Dil Bole Hadippa!."

see the thing with Rani is , she may not be the most beautiful actress, nor the best dancer, nor is she the sexiest. but she still manages to pull of any roles with as much conviction.

Rani is one of the best actresses ever and nobody can take that fact away from her.

Well, I hope the hard work pays off, but reading this I was a bit taken aback by all of the superstition Yashraj has and the whole balancing gender equation thing by having to have the song. It seems a bit gimmicky, but I guess it isn't a big deal at the end of the day.

Anyways, I think it will be a very danceable number for sure, and it will be interesting to see how it does on the charts.

i dont get it....so is rani gonna be dancing as veera kaur, or as the sardar kid?? cuz itz sunidhi and alisha singing....so she must be dancing as veera rite...?? but it says she'll be dancing as a rakhi's "man"....confusingg!!
