Dear Friends,

From the frying pan to the fire is Laali's case, aaj ki do baatein....

1: When Shekhar offered money, Laali did not accept and now a wrong kind of woman has done a favour to her and ensured Laali is grateful enough for her favour. Well Laali you will be extremely lucky if you can escape from her, if not caught by Baali....now I feel Baali is a better option as he will ensure Laali's safe return to the Haveli, to our Shekhar and of course our Thakur

2: I loved the scene Laali overhearing her parents' interaction with Baali, how helpless they were and yes they have sold her...her faith on her father was shattered, the safest destination for any girl at any given point of time was snatched away by just two words 'bech diya'.....yes my friends that is the reality even today, many parents do still want to escape or is forced to sell their daughter not only to the likes of Baali but also to an institution called marriage......many married girls today cannot return to their maayeka for they know they are not wanted or welcomed there, the social stigma, the monetary position, the helplessness of the parents, sibling rivalry, the reason can be many but the truth is same....

Jate jate, yes now it is clear why the Dai wants Laali's exit from the house, the end of Laali, she wants to see her daughter in her place but want kind of mother is she, apne beti ko rakhail banana chahati hai......whereas Laali's mother was forced to sell her daughter, this woman is willing to trade her daughter for her position which will no doubt improve if her daughter becomes somebody in the Haveli....

Last but not the least.....this is the journey of womanhood my friends, still the story of many innocent girls, leaving aside the Thakur's antics (though I missed him today) I can say today's episode showed the stark reality of our society, east or west....love Tin

Tintiny ... A sensitively articulated writeup. 👍🏼

Womanhood is a journey. And like every journey, there are ups and downs, known paths and unknown paths ... but all paths must lead to love, happiness and self-realization. Laali is undergoing this journey now ...

Hopefully, as she overcomes each challenge, she will grow stronger and maturer and a woman in the true sense ...

Here are a few lines for Laali as she walks the path of womanhood ...
These lines are from a poem called "Womanhood" by Ella Wheeler Wilcox ...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On her face
A loyal nature leaves its seal of grace,
And chastity is in her atmosphere.
Not that chill chastity which seems austere
(Like untrod snow-peaks, lovely to behold
Till once attained ' then barren, loveless, cold):
But the white flame that feeds upon the soul
And lights the pathway to a peaceful goal.
A sense of humour, and a touch of mirth,
To brighten up the shadowy spots of earth;
And pride that passes evil choosing good.
All these unite in perfect womanhood.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks. 😊

👏

As you said Simon, hopefully Laali will become wiser and strive for her happiness. I am sick of seeing ever sacrificing women though I do not want to see unreasonable selfish women too but a logical mixture....as you said strong, matured and reasonable woman....love Tin

I agree with you. At the moment it seems Bali is a safe bet. I didnt like the way Daali said "If you see the world through our eyes then the world is so bad/disgusting" or something like that. So many people are Laali....why dont you tear the poor girl into three equal bits - one for Daali, one for the Thakur and one for Nanku as a monument to remind him he sold his daugther!

Yes yes, sadly is still happens. I also felt for Laali as she stood there helpless. The joy as she appraoched the house shattered in a matter of few seconds. I think it would take a super human to tolerate as much as Laali has and I am sure there are more struggles for this girl with no home..

Dai is very disgusting. Worse off then Majri and Nanku. I simple have no words for Dai. The day her plans are revealed to the Thakur, Loha will kill her sure. Today she has been saved but next time - watch out Dai!

Last but not the least.....this is the journey of womanhood my friends, still the story of many innocent girls, leaving aside the Thakur's antics (though I missed him today) I can say today's episode showed the stark reality of our society, east or west....love Tin

As usual very nicely put. Let's see what more there is on store for Laaliya...
