As long as my 'flaw' had been pointed out in a nice, constructive way, I really do not mind - after all, how are we suppose to learn 'bout our flaws and mistakes (and in turn correct them) if we block our ear[s] from the beginning. But too much of a lecture just pisses me off.
But I do agree with the notion that a person whose only objective in life is to find flaws in someone else's nature carries the biggest flaw in his own [nature].

People who exist to point out flaws in others are silly. But sooner or later, they find someone who is exactly the same way as they are and who will point out their flaws without hesitation.

As far as pointing out my own flaws, I don't mind - depending on who the source is. If its someone close to me, who I trust, then I think they're actually doing me a favor by telling me that. In the heat of the moment, I might not like it or want to hear it, but at the end of the day, I will try to understand where they're coming from. Sometimes we don't like to admit it, sometimes we don't like to believe it, but I'd rather someone tell me to my face that I'm this or that, rather than go whisper it to someone else behind my back.

But I'll be honest, if I person I don't like or appreciate starts pointing out my flaws, I'd rather bite their head off.

Those point out flaws in others do have one major flaw, that is brutal, in your face, honesty. Apparently, people like to be lied to about their abilities.

Here is the thing, when someone pointed out a flaw and it is absolutely and totally true - why is that person wrong for being honest. Of course it probably hurt, you thought they were being rude and mean - but in the long run if you pay heed to it, they save you from being delusional. I'd rather have someone point out my flaws than learn a harder lesson later.

As for the one who points flaws, do it for being honest and helpful, not to put the other person down. Try to make the truth palatable, but do not alter the truth in any way. Most importantly, be open minded and receptive when people point your own flaws.

Absolutely with RTH ji on that one. Just to add for the one who points flaws, and if he is doing it honestly, he should think about the right way to do it before saying it without thinking !😉

Depends whether the one pointing out a flaw in you is doing that because they really care for you and want you to improve/succeed. If they are in the habit of finding flaws in others so that they look better - then I pity such folks.

We all have flaws. No one is deviod of it althought whether a particular aspect of an individual is a flaw is rather relative. And i also agre that it is not nice manners to always try and find flaws in people. Thanks
