Chapter 1
-An Encounter Unknown
As Maya rolled her eyes once more at something her grandma said, she saw her mom look towards her with the same expression. She smiled in relief knowing she wasn't the only one who felt that way.
"Maya! Are you listening to me?" Her grandma called, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Ji Naani. Let's head home na?" Maya answered.
She could see the look of reluctance on her grandma's face, but she chose to ignore it, dragging her towards their car. As she relaxed in her seat for the long way home, she quickly put in her ear buds for her Ipod, so she could tune out her mom and grandma as they again started arguing about directions, people and places.
Passing a billboard of Airtel, she couldn't help but wonder, did he ever have to go through this. "He" of course was meaning her favourite actor Harshad Chopra. She laughed at herself for even wondering this; she knew his whole life story by heart. He didn't have the chance to experience a grandmother's love or anger. Immediately her heart went out to him.
"Maya...is that okay with you?" Her mom asked her.
"Huh? What?" she asked quickly.
I was asking you, if it's okay if we drop you off at the hotel and then go visit some more family friends?" Her mom asked with a certain agitation in her voice.
"That's more than okay mom!" Maya quickly agreed, planning out her whole afternoon of hanging out at the beauty salon, and by the poolside.
When they got to the hotel, Maya sighed in relief, knowing she could actually do everything she planned for now.
"You'll call me every hour okay?" her mom demanded rather than asked.
"Yes Mom...promise! Bye! Bye Naani!" She called as she got out.
She smiled at the security guard as he greeted her.
As she got into the elevator, she thought about going into the salon to make an appointment but then she decided she'd just call them from her room.
"Remind me again to thank mom for that!" Maya thought as she headed up to her single room on the 15th floor.
She entered the room with her key card, and sighed in happiness, as she heard the door close behind her. She dropped her purse on the chair and went to the check her phone messages.
"Hey Maya....guess who? Actually don't...since you already know who...but all I wanted to say is...I miss you, and I know you probably won't miss me at all...but atleast try okay? Love you girl! Bye!"
"Crazy Shahid..." Maya said laughing; she quickly changed into her beach clothes, and headed down to the pool, taking her cell phone with her.
She lounged around by the pool for about an hour, called her mom to let her know what she's been doing, and then she told her she was going to hang out in her room. As she headed towards the main elevator, she could see some commotion happening in the front lobby, but she dismissed it, judging by what she was wearing, she couldn't go check.
Right as she was shutting her room door behind her, she was forced to open it by someone on the other side, who in his rush, made her drop her towel, revealing only her bathing suit.
"Who the hell..."Maya trails off as she sees who just entered her hotel room. To her utter shock, standing in front of her is her dream man, Harshad Chopra.
