RDB to open day earlier in the UK

The eagerly awaited Aamir Khan-starrer RANG DE BASANTI will open a day earlier in the UK than the worldwide release date, which is 20 January. According to sources, UTV's International Distribution Division has decided to open with select exclusive previews across Cine World, Vue & Odeon-UCI cinemas on 19 January. The publicity and word-of-mouth in the UK is pretty robust with the Daler Mehndi-rendered 'Rang De Basanti' track emerging on the popularity charts.

RANG DE BASANTI is a film about awakening. About standing up for ones beliefs. Where the spirit of rebellion transcends time and age. A young idealistic English filmmaker, arrives in India to make a film on Indian revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and their contemporaries and their fight for freedom from the British Raj. Owing to a lack of funds, she recruits students from Delhi University to act in her docu-drama.
