Well... There must be a valid reason for Abhi not doing operations... And something tells me Niki knows.... During the fight..... Abhi was getting hit everywhere by the goons.... But when one goon hit him behind his back, on his spinal, Niki was shocked beyond words... She even mouthed "Oh No!"... Could be Abhi has some back problem....

And long back not to forget, Niki had seen a file, a case sheet looked like on Abhi's desk.... But before she could read what it was, Abhi had come.... It might be that also... But damn sure the creatives have not forgotten it.... Time will come when they show it....!
