Pibare Ramarasam (Drink the nectar (the ras) of Ram)
This song (kirti/kirtan) is usually sung in the Carnatic style in the raag Yamun Kalyani. The lyrics are composed in Sanskrit by the telugu composer Sadashiva Brahmendra.
I am posting some verses with the meaning. It is such a beautiful song celebrating the greatness of "do akshar ke nam, Ram."
Song with meaning below:
Pibare Ram Rasam
Rasaney Pibare Ram Rasam
Pibare Ram Rasam
Drink the nectar of Ram Naam, the Ras of Ram Naam
Dhoori Krita Pataka Samsargam
Ram naam will destroy all sins
Pooritha Naanavidha Phala Vargam
Ram naam will confer the delights similar to drinking the juice of many delicious fruits (Phala vargam)
Pibare Ram Rasam
Drink the ras, the juice, of Ram naam
Janana marana Bhaya shoka viduram
Ram naam takes away the fear of Janam and Maran (janana marana bhaya), of birth and death
Shakala Shastra nigama aagama Saaram
Ram naam is the essence of all shastras
Shuddha paramahamsa ashrama gitam
It (Ram Naam) is the song sung in all ashrams
Shuka Shaunaka kaushika mukha pitam
This beautiful Ram naam ras is drunk by the great sages like Kaushika (Viswamitra) who know all shastras and have tasted Eternity
Beautiful, beautiful kirtan on Ram Naam by Shadashiva Brahmendra.
