Twilight's Robert Pattinson vs. Brad Pitt: The hottest at man at Cannes is...

Screeching red carpet fans and screaming weblogs have given the Hottest Guy at Cannes' 2009 title to Robert Pattinson.

The Dish Rag, a blog by Los Angeles Times' writer Elizabeth Snead commented on how good Pattinson looked in his Dior Homme suit and decided he "probably even smelled fantastic." (A stretch? Absolutely. But Pattinson did look great in his slender-cut tux).

A post by Carolyn on the Dish Rag blog read: "Pitt looks past his sell by date. Its a cruel industry. Pattinson looked incredible at Cannes. Every inch the Hollywood superstar."

"No contest," wrote a woman named Diana. "It's Rob all the way and not just because of amazing looks. i love everything about him. His humour (even his laugh is exquisite). I love his mystery and allure. His personality intrigues me...Pattinson is going to be a huge world star. I'm excited for him."

Before signing off Diana added, "Poor Pitt he looks like he's trying too hard these days."

Ouch.

We'll always have a soft spot for Brad Pitt -- few guys look better in a pair of aviator sunglasses and his grin is A-list -- but it's Rob Pattinson's turn to be chief heart throb now.
