Alan Rickman in the 'Most Attractive Man of 2005' finale

Alan Rickman (Snape) is in the final selection for Hello! Magazine's 'Most Attractive Man of 2005' poll.

It is at the request of the OCFC (Other Cast Fan Club) and some of its members, that I urge you to vote by going to this link.

Most horrifically, the actor is currently losing out to Orlando Bloom! *gasp*

The poll closes on January 13th 2006.

Potter stars on New Year's Honours List

Both Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid) and Imelda Staunton (rumoured to be Professor Umbridge in 'Order of the Phoenix') are to be on the New Year's Honours List.

They will be made Officers of the prestigious Order of the British Empire (OBE). The Honours are presented annually and acknowledges services to the arts and sciences, public services and work with charitable and welfare organisations.

GOF tops $800 million worldwide

In its sixth weekend in conventional movie theatres, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire raised its total worldwide gross to $808.7 million, topping Prisoner of Azkaban's final $790 million take in 2004. GOF's domestic pull now stands at $274 million, and two of the movie's stronger days this holiday season - today and tomorrow - are not accounted for in those figures.

Additionally, GOF has now jumped to #14 on the list of the most succesful movies of all-time.

GOF #6 on BBC's 'Film 2005' list

Film 2005's top ten films of the year were announced by Jonathan Ross earlier this morning, and Goblet of Fire came in at #6. The top movies were voted upon by BBC viewers over the past several weeks, and several readers' comments are listed on the Film 2005 website:

'Mike Newell has done JK Rowling's bestseller absolute justice' says Jamie McGilchrist of Dundee, who also praises its 'humourous and thoughtful script' and 'tremendous effects,' while many of you agreed with Zulfikal Malik from Bradford, who hails it as 'the best Potter film so far, filled with dark enchantment'.

Steve Kloves in 'Creative Screenwriting'

Steve Kloves, the writer of the first four Harry Potter movie scripts, is featured in the latest edition of Creative Screenwriting Magazine. According to the blurb on their website:

The Muggle who brought J.K. Rowling's first four Harry Potter novels to the screen talks about how Harry is growing up. And yes, Steve tells us if he's coming back for The Half-Blood Prince.
